You can't get the NFL channel, or Viceland, or AMC though since they're cable channels. (Look at Sling.com...you can get viceland and amc with that. I think it's $20/mo + whatever other packages you want).
It really depends on the antenna you buy. Indoor antennas are only good up to 25-75 miles, so you can't pull in a channel farther away than what the antenna says its capable of. Outdoor antennas placed on a house/roof or even a balcony if you live in an high-rise can go up to 150 miles and get the most channels.
Tv antennas these days all grab channels in HD so they come in really great quality.
