False stereotype and even then it's very dependant on the demographic you hang out with. If you're working class then yeah, it's pretty common to lose it early, but if you're just normal middle class it wouldn't be weird at all if you'd never really been in a position for it unless you found yourself a girl/boyfriend in high school.
