Meltzer in 364 days
>>
>>6445037
That's a long time anon. Are his wait times usually that long?
>>
>>6445050
Lol his wait times are like 2 to 3 times that long, this has been in the works for a while. I'm patient.
>>
>>6445053
What's standard?
>>
Went to Brassard in January, ask away if you want. I'll keep this thread open until it either 404s or gets flooded with shitposts.
>>
Chettawut in 52 days.

>>6445053
Why is Meltzer's waiting list so long? Chett doesn't allow bookings more then a year in advance.
>>
Bored and went to suporn last year ask me anything
>>
>>6446538
How satisfied are you with the look?
>>
>>6449265
Very. The scars are still healing so I'm not sure how it'll look in the end, but otherwise it looks fine. In my experience scars end up just being thin white lines, so it's all good. I had a lot of worries going in, but it all turned out fine.

(And holy shit, I posted this last night but apparently missed the captcha. I'm an idiot.)
>>
>>6448399
why did you bother mutilating your penis when you still present as a man?
>>
Women who paid for SRS themselves:
Did you make a deposit when you scheduled your appointment? How large was the deposit?($ amount and percentage of total cost)
Did you pay the rest in payments or completely when you got the surgery done?

Any MTF's who got SRS:
How long did you have to wait after scheduling your surgery to actually have it? I usually hear around a year for well-known docs.
>>
>>6449981
Wait time was half a year for Brassard, but I'm from Quebec so fewer hoops to jump through maybe?
>>
>>6449953
i don't consider it as mutilation and I don't present as male
sry but no clue what you mean
>>
>>6450177
Do porn or move to Iran?
>>
>>6450201
Too young for SRS then.
>>
>>6446538
What's your opinion on the hon who arsoned the place?
>>
>>6452530
I hadn't even heard about it until now. How do we know who it was though? Either way, it's shitty, and screwing over a lot of people. The staff there are all great and they all have their patients' best interest at heart. They don't deserve this.
>>
>>6453284
I'm pretty sure what anon means is that in most places SRS isn't accessible if you're a minor.
>>
>>6453301
I know, but nobody said lawmakers are particularly smart.
>>
I know surgeons sometimes want a letter from your doc acknowledging you've been on HRT for a certain amount of time.

Can having been self-medding for a significant portion of the required time screw you over with clearing that qualification?
>>
Has anyone been to Bluebond-Langner in Baltimore? It's closer than the ones in Philly but haven't found any examples of work...
>>
>>6453269
Because she got arrested for it. She;s a former patient and a hon that's all i know.
>>
>>6449981
Had mine with Chett (early pics in the OP, I should send more since it looks better now), 20% deposit, about 2000€. The rest I paid before surgery, plus a little extra for the depth skin graft.
Eight months between scheduling and surgery but it could have been several months shorter. I picked a date later than what was available for personal reasons.
>>
>>6454107
Please send more.
>>
>>6450021
>>6454107
Thanks!
>>
>>6453959
Wow. Well, that's dumb. I guess she got bad results or something?

>>6453783
It depends on your therapist. Some will acknowledge the self-medding time. If they don't, find a new therapist who doesn't have brain damage.
>>
>>6449981
I paid "myself" using borrowed money from a super sweet friend. Deposit was about $2500? Total surgery cost quoted at 21k. Insurance covered hospital so upfront I only had to pay about 16k total. All was due upfront (weeks ahead of time) except hospital which was day-of.

The wait was mega luck. Called in ~April to schedule consult. Expressed that I was serious and wanted to be on the cancellations list. Consult scheduled for October.

They call me back in August for a consult, saying there were cancellations in Oct and Nov. Yes, I'm definitely still interested. Bam, surgery was last November. 7 months from first picking up the phone.
>>
>>6455698
how does it look?
>>
>>6453954
Probably just go to Philly. When I first started thinking about SRS I hunted the far reaches of the internet trying to find any result from the Baltimore surgeons and nothing turned up.

Also 410 rep
>>
Is Suporn really that much better than Chettawut or is it all memes?
>>
>>6456319
I hear two things about their relationship. Chett is either roughly the same as suporn or much worse. I've heard very few people claim he's better but i wonder if it's because he's cheaper and people associate cost to performance.
>>

>>
>>6457716
The surgery I got from Chett is still recent, but so far the results have given me no reason to think I could have gotten better elsewhere just by paying more.
One thing I've noticed, though, is that it's only online that I hear about Suporn being the best. Chettawut is pretty much considered as the best option in all real life trans groups I've spent time at, Brassard being the first choice of those who'd rather avoid Thailand.

anyone know about how long "regular contact" needs to be with psychologists/therapists before they'll gimme a vagoo? haven't seen a therapist in years and am going to a new one in a few months. i just dont know how long i need to be seeing them before my surgeon will agree to a consultation. mcginn if that helps

Kinda scared to get SRS to be honest. Like I hate having a dick but like, I'm a total wimp and knowing my luck would have a total fuck up that wouldn't go very well. I'm torn on what to do, I know it's a few years down the road (probably 5-10 or more) but it still kinda bugs me that I can't decide on SRS or not
>>
>>6462620
I felt this way and ended up just settling for an orchi and letting it shrivel up and get tiny.
>>
>>6462620
I had my doubts going in, but it was a really smooth experience. I've had more pain from dentists... Also, the result is slowly but surely into something a lot better than I expected. If you're seriously consider it, get it as soon as you get comfortable with the idea, it's worth it.
>>
>>6462270
Right now I only have closeups that I've sent to the clinic whenever I had issues, so nothing that properly shows the results. Maybe I'll take some tomorrow.

Does male SRS really suck that bad if you're a strict bottom? Is it possible to get an artificial "prostate" so anal sex can feel good?
>>
>>6466021
The prostate is a very specific gland, and the female analogue is the Skene's glands cluster, aka G spot. It probably would be possible to move that and the associated nerves to the back, but building a prostate from scratch is unlikely until organ printing gets a lot better than what it is now.

Usually though when chett is brought up it's because he has the 'same' technique as suporn. Almost everything i hear about him is linked to suporn because i guess suporn is the better known thai surgeon.

My experiences with irl trans people who get surgery is that none of them even bother to do much research or look into the techniques, that includes people who've touted 'suporn best' and people who've said 'suporn meme'.
>>
>>6466458
Thing is, Suporn is just never mentioned. Chett has that reputation of offering the best bang for the buck. Some still swear by Preecha or Kamol. But Suporn's reputation here is basically inexistent.

so let's say i'm an american who's middle-middle class, so i don't want to go into heavy debt but i can live with it if necessary. i could switch to a united plan for about $5k, but as far as i can tell that would only cover brownstein-crane or bowers and i've heard iffy things and their results don't look very good.

where would i be best off for mtf srs? i'm not anti-thailand but when it looks like suporn goes for like $15k and brassard goes for like $20k iirc i don't see a crazy advantage

I've never heard a story about a gyn clocking a trans vag.

It makes me wonder if they're just being professional. They probably see the worst of the worst vaginas. They know what the ugly ones look like but do you really think anyone leaves their gyns office in tears because he was honest about their monstrosity of a vagina?

I'm not doubting your srs vag is good and maybe even does pass flawlessly, but a gyn will never tell you otherwise. It's literally their job not to.
>>
>>6476190
Yeah she's a good example of over the top statements. It sounds like she's trying to convince herself most of the time. I'm cis and have a very close post op friend and I tell her I can't tell and it looks natal. It makes her feel really good and I'm sure that's what this trips friends do with her too.

They can look very good and my friends does but up close there is just no way they look totally cis

The texture isn't quite right up close and there is an odd sort of disassociation between the opening of the vagina and the rest of the reconstructed area. Where the skin joins between sections of differing tissues also has this almost pieced together, unnatural quality. Id say these are the biggest give aways in a well constructed neo-vag.

I think its important for post op girls to feel like this trip does. This is after all the primary purpose of the surgery. I think its wonderful that she feels so convinced or perhaps as some others here might say "delusional".

I do think it is extremely important though for any of you considering this surgery that you must objectively accept and be prepared (if you cannot convince yourself as zealously as this trip does), that your vagina will not appear upon close inspection to be natal.

You're vastly overestimating the competence of gynos... My sister suffered from undiagnosed endometriosis for 15 years. All the gynos she saw told her painful periods were normal in spite of her pain being debilitating. When one finally realized it might be useful to have her some imagery done, she was already in stage IV... So, I'm pretty certain they're too inept to tell a neovag from the "real thing".
>>
>>6478423
Just because they're too inept to properly diagnose your sister doesn't mean they're so inept they can't tell an SRS vag froma real vag.

Hello fellow Canadian anon.

Compared to the OP examples of the Brassard, was your healing process as scary? I would really like to get mine done in Canada but the few results posted in the imgur link in the OP are not very appealing to me.

Would you say yours is better than those?
>>
I have a bit of an odd question.

Say you end up like bedbound and needing to be on a catheter again after SRS. Would you have to tell the hospital to use a male length catheter or would a female one work? Since I know most shorten the urethra but as far as I'm aware it's not completely shortened as they fold it a bit as well.
>>
Anyone in Bangkok next month?
Pls bring me food.
>>
>>6485159
They're both the same length
>>
>>6489978
Ah okay yeah. I think you're right. I went watching some videos and reading about my srs technique and it does seem like it's the same length as a normal girls.

Though I have heard some American surgeon doesn't shorten the urethra but rather just folds it because it causes less trauma and reduces the risk of the urethral opening scarring over. But for most it does seem to be completely cut down to size.
>>
>>6490014
>Though I have heard some American surgeon doesn't shorten the urethra but rather just folds it
Ew, what doctors, so I can avoid them?

Where do I find after pictures of British SRS? I can't find any and I only think there's one or two surgeons who do NHS.
>>
>>6490668
The two NHS surgeons are Mr Thomas and Miss Rashid. Mr Bellringer also takes on some NHS patients but I don't think you can get reliable referred to him, pretty much just luck.

Unfortunately there's not really any pictures of a fully healed British srs vagina. The one person's pictures who I saw that convinced me took them down, and while I do have them saved I'm not going to post them because she obviously took them down for a reason.
>>
>>6490677
Bellringer is the only surgeon I've heard of. It's a shame those pics went, did they look good at least?
>>
>>6490692
Yeah, they looked really good actually. Better than a lot of other srs vaginas I've seen, she'd gone to Bellringer herself. Though srs outcomes depend on a lot of things so I wouldn't take it to mean that his are always as amazing as her outcome was.

They all supposedly do the same technique. Mr Thomas and Mr Bellringer both trained together under the same surgeon and so have been doing it as long as each other. Thomas works both in Brighton at a private hospital that the NHS will fund and in the CHX. Bellringer just works at Parkside in London though he used to work at CHX for the NHS too. Miss Rashid is fairly new, only training under Thomas for the past few years and only officially performing it by herself for like just over a year I think, though that's not to say she's bad since I know someone who's been to her and is happy (though I haven't seen it).

You should probably look into it yourself by talking to people who've had srs with Swedish surgeons and talking to the surgeons yourself.

There's a lot of highly incorrect memes that get thrown around srs. So many girls believe that British surgeons don't give you labia minora, don't give you a clitoral hood, don't give you a clitoris, only gain like 3" of depth. And it's all bullshit.

I'm going to Chettawut next month. I'm staying at the vertical suite. Is there anything unexpected I should bring or purchase for my stay? Also any comfy single player games I can play on my low end laptop.

Don't expect to be able to play anything for the first few days since you have to lay completely flat, it's beyond boring, truly hell.

Candy Crush on FB?
Jokes aside, you don't really need to pack up anything you wouldn't for a normal trip abroad. Pretty much everything can be bought on site during your first few days there.
Bring a smartphone and get a Thai sim card with a data package asap. Having a map and geolocalization comes really handy when moving around Bangkok.
A well-filled DVD folder is nice to have in the evenings. Don't count too much on streaming services there.
Also, good, broken in, open leather shoes. Made the shopping marathons I had past the midpoint of my stay much comfier.

The clinic bed is fully adjustable by remote, enough to be comfortable using a phone. By the time I was back at the hotel, there was no compelling reason to lay flat either, no pain and I was fully mobile, so I just packed cushions and covers to prop up my back and used the folding table to use my laptop. Didn't hurt my recovery at all...

My Mum's coming with me so she can probably read to me but what else can I do? Also I've heard you'll be asleep most of the time in hospital, how long were you awake for a day?
>>
>>6506795
I was awake as usual past the first night after surgery or so it felt. Didn't sleep that much. Might depend on how much analgesics you take. I didn't need much.

I was able to take day long walks the day after they removed the urinary catheter. Nine days after surgery that was. Left me a lot of time for shopping and sightseeing that I didn't really expect... Before that, watching movies, listening to the radio, reading books myself, bit of video gaming. Also, if that's both your and her thing, playing cards or dice are totally manageable.

It seems really unlikely you'll be stuck in bed completely unable to move for an extended period. I know I wasn't past the day after surgery. Recovery was much faster and smoother than I expected.
>>
>>6506761
>The clinic bed is fully adjustable by remote, enough to be comfortable using a phone
I didn't go to chett, so I guess you know more about his particular way of doing recovery. But even though we had adjustable beds I wasn't allowed to start moving it until like day 3 and even then it wasn't really upright enough to do anything interesting.
>>
>>6506795
>Also I've heard you'll be asleep most of the time in hospital, how long were you awake for a day?

I was only asleep for like the first day, drifting in and out of consciousness. But the rest of the week in hospital I was awake. Though I fell asleep fairly often because it was so boring.
>>
>tfw you've been dealing with internal granulation tissue for over a year and it finally seems to be subsiding
>>
>>6507712
Do granulation tissue go away on its own? Or do you need any follow-up procedures? Sorry for being stupid
>>
>>6507730
Typically you need follow up, silver nitrate treatments and/or a topical steroid called betnovate.

If those fail you need to get it surgically removed.

Though sometimes if you're lucky it will go on its own. But it's better just to get it treated since it makes dilation extremely painful and can last for years otherwise.

The reason I've had it for over a year is because I only had it treated every few months rather than as often as it should be. I'm going in for another treatment this month but it seems to be fading on it's own right now.
>>
>>6507730
Actually, granulation tissue is a normal phenomenon. It's the body's stopgap to close wounds before building more solid tissue from it. It's usually quickly replaced. Sometimes it isn't and/or it extends where it shouldn't be. That's when treatment becomes important because on top of being painful (and unsightly when it's a visible place), it's extremely permeable to infections.
>>
>>6508000
>it's extremely permeable to infections.

Really? I've never had an infection and I've had that granulation for ages, albeit treated occasionally.
>>
>>6508047
It's not as much an issue in a cavity you take care of and that has some protective mucus as it is on exposed skin. It's not just a SRS thing. Common problem following severe burns, for instance.

what surgeon was that?
>>
>>6508863
same. I had the money for either FFS or SRS, which meant I could either be a woman with a dick, or a man with a vagina. I picked woman with a dick. can't imagine looking like that and not wanting to kill myself

Who did hers? It's not too bad.

I'd go for man with a vagina. FtMs are highly sought after these days.

What's the best thing about having a vagina?

Not having a penis

So what is the deal with getting an ori before srs? Is it possible to do as much without terrible consequence?

Will make it harder to get Thai style SRS. Shouldn't make a huge difference otherwise.

I had SRS 11 hours ago and now I'm fucking horny from the sensation I got down there what the shit is going on?! I need to make that stop but how?

I can't effectively tuck so SRS sounds like heaven. Just not having to tuck alone is worth it probably.

nice humblebrag about your huge dic
>>

Nope. It's actually so small while flacid, that its incredibly difficult to keep in place while pushed back. The tuck inevitably comes undone. Even if it is super small, it causes a bump which is fucking gross...

No you didn't you fibber. No surgeon worth their salt would let you out of bed after even 24 hours?

It's not perfect but compared to having a dick it is.

Well but he did. Not like I could actually walk but I had to change rooms by foot either way.

Where did you get this surgery that they didn't have wheelable hospital beds? Uzbekistan?
>>
>>6521268
Just go read the blog, bloody hell. Thailand and there is neither an elevator nor do the doors look like beds can even fit through fully assembled.
>>
>>6521213
Christ. I thought Chett was supposed to be world class, why doesn't he have an elevator or anything if the rooms require going to another floor. That's terrible.

I was hobbling by a week after, I can't imagine having to walk stairs on the first day,
>>
>>6521303
Same what I heard from trannies that went with Suporn and as I said I couldnt really walk without two nurses helping me and me dragging my right leg.

I'm fairly sure I could walk on my own today but luckily it was just to kickstart circulation and I wont need to.
>>
>>6521331
You dont need to walk to "restart circulation". That sounds like a lie to make you think it's needed and not just because there's no elevator and push beds.

All you need to prevent dvt is some compression device (periodically squeezes legs) and tights. But it seems unlikely he'd have those I guess.
>>
>>6521422
No they have those and theyre just starting to become itchy as fuck too.
(Protip: dont shave legs the day before)

Yesterday I couldnt move my legs or feet or toes at all as much as I tried but after that short walk I got almost full control and sensation back in them so it musta been good for something.

not that simple. Only insurance that covers it for free is in san fagsisco and I don't live near there
>>

>Only insurance that covers it for free is in san fagsisco
So get an insurance with a low maximum out of pocket. $3k is reasonable to expect, especially with low income, and nothing beats SRS for like 15% the cost.
>>
>>6521495
Well SRS starts at 2k.
>>
>>6521504
I would not trust SRS for 2k.
>>

>>
>>6521510
>good srs
Define good SRS. If you shop for insurance well you could get any domestic surgeon.

This is beginning to sound like hon defeatism.
>>
>>6521303
It's mostly consistent with my recent experience except I had a bit more time than her in the prep room after surgery, the short walk wasn't exactly painful or difficult so it didn't feel weird or abnormal at all to me, especially since it had been explained before the surgery, and I only stayed a couple days at the clinic after changing rooms.
By the time I left the clinic, I could stand and walk as normally as the packing and catheter allowed for.

Now, the recovery part went differently, the donut cushion I barely used because it was cumbersome and largely unnecessary. The one small bottle of tramadol I was given lasted my whole stay with no refill. The bleeding was minimal so I ditched the pregnancy pads for mini ones as soon as I ran out.
And I was back to normal physically nine days after surgery, just a day after the catheter was finally removed. Walked through malls for six hours in downtown Bangkok that day because staying at the hotel had gotten boring.

So, your mileage may vary, I guess. I'm rather tough and I heal very fast compared to most patients from what I gathered. I expected much, much worse but the whole month was more pleasant and painless than the one I spent recovering from a tonsillectomy...
>>
>>6521516
a good vag is one where you can't shit out of it

US Dr.s are trash at srs
>>
>>6521422
The clinic is indeed very cramped, it's not part of a general hospital, feels more like a repurposed family house, which is rather cozy and comforting if you don't like hospitals, actually... I was freshly out of a year spent in a psychiatric clinic because of occupational burnout when I went to Thailand, so that was a rather pleasant surprise.
You're wheeled to and from the operating room, but the recovery rooms are downstairs. As I wrote in my previous post, it definitely wasn't an issue for me, didn't even really think about it before now... though I guess it can be for some patients. There was a compression device which was slightly annoying but I suppose quite necessary.
>>
>>6521575
Odd, I had to walk and I guess they carried me back. Might have been due to weight which could also explain why I had troubles going downstairs, cause I was just too weakened.

Right now I'm not sure whether I got bowel movement or if thats just my urethra seeking attention... am a bit scared.
>>
>>6521692
I didn't get a full feel of the clinic layout, to be honest. They have to have a number of rooms given the number of surgeries that get done. The nurses are just too efficient at whisking you from one point of the clinic to another. So I have no idea where the other rooms are.
Also, I think they had me take everything on my script, including lormetazepam, so I'm lacking a few memories. Specifically, I don't remember waking up from anesthesia at all. All I remember is that I woke up in bed the morning after. No memories between the injection and that.
>>
>>6521796
Lucky you, I didnt sleep at all apart from the anesthesia and if my hair loss doesnt stop like right now I'll look like a cancer patient once I walk outside.

That bowel cleansing is a pile of garbage, but alas he did scar the wall between vagina and intestine.

I was worried about the hair thing after hearing horror stories about it but I had no trouble about that either. Actually, I checked something I hadn't thought of before and I guess my perception of time was skewed. The selfies I took right after waking up are from 1AM the night right after surgery, so earlier than I thought. I guess jet lag, meds and being stuck in windowless rooms don't help...

>getting SRS before beard removal
>hon priorities
>>
>>6522065
Laser was one of the very first things I started, before even properly coming out. But as I said, I was stuck in a hospital for a year and I could only manage one laser session during that time. It's not really permanent. Past the first six or eight first sessions, most of it is gone, but touchups every three months or so are still needed for a while. Getting that fixed as soon as my dermatologist is back from her holidays and it won't be a moment too soon.
>>
>>6522065
Getting off of AAs should have quite high priority indeed. The rest doesnt matter as much on the timeline. I had FFS before SRS but the sole reason for that were the waiting lists for both.
>>
>>6522119
Actually, the main reason SRS had a high priority for me was that it's a semi-official requirement for a full ID change here and being stuck with my birth ID is the biggest source of trans-related problems I've had since I went full-time.
>>
>>6521796
>I don't remember waking up from anesthesia at all.

I remember waking up in post-operative care unit like just after surgery despite being completely loopy and out of it because of the anaesthetic. I remember being in that bed and shaking my head back and forth and the nurses and people trying to get me to stop moving.

thai uses the moist foreskin for the inside of labia minora and the clitoral hood
thus adding lubrication
circumcision kinda dries everything up
