I'm not sure I'll be able to accept the fact that he died until I am fully accepted by his side of the family.
My father was from a town the United Kingdom where he had lived almost his entire life, worked and raised a family.
His wife cheated on him when he was in his 60s and he was forced into the dating game again to try to escape the town he was now extremely embarrassed to be living in. He was also diagnosed with cancer shortly after the divorce.
Long story short, he meets my mom on a mail-in dating service and after two years of letters back and forth they get married and he moves to Florida to be with my mom.
I'm born a year later and he dies 5 years later a week after my 5th birthday and on father's day.
The reason I told this story is because since most of my family is in Britain it is hard to keep in contact with them. On top of that my half-sister was very close to my father and say it's hard to see me because I look like him.
I feel like I shouldn't exist and that I was born too late and that I missed out on a nice life in a quiet English town. And if I come out as a transgendered person I'll basically be without friends or family for the rest of my life.

My dad had a similar thing with my grandad dying when he was 9, in ways a bit worse since he got to know a tiny bit of him. He was really obsessed with keeping the family tight after that, he kept memorabilia from my grandad around and tried to collect as many stories as he could.
