What are so many gay people, men in particular, so enamored with Hillary Clinton?
>>
Are you baiting?

People hate her. Nearly fucking everyone hates her
>>
You know, I just watched a stadium full of thousands upon thousands of TEXAS REPUBLICANS ==CHEER== the gay community. Hillary sure as fuck couldn't do that. In fact wouldn't do that if she was given the chance, because we are far more useful to her as an oppressed minority, not as accepted normal peers. Trump just made Gays the heroes of the Republicans.

Yea, thats why she's ahead and the pol's and had a dedicated gay following that preferred her to Sanders, even the HRC got behind her early on, you're a fool and a tool if you just buy into media narratives.

I'm a lesbian and I hate all of this year's candidates. When do we get to vote for someone who is pro-LGBT, pro-gun, pro-labor-union, pro-environment, and pro-Constitution?

You're even dumber for promoting Trump, he has more on the record lies than Hillary. They're both liars, but he lies more frequently.

You're a real dope if you think Hillary or Trump is honest.

OP, said gay men, but I as a gay man welcome the lesbian perspective.
>>
I haven't really seen any support for her among gay people, personally. Everyone that I've seen comment on her at all has been to say that she's done nothing for gays in her whole career, and only started giving us lip service recently, during the safest time in history to do so.
>>
>>6402018
There are really no effectively anti gun candidates for a few reasons.

1. America's gun laws are so lax that anyone who suggests any slight regulation is instantly labeled anti gun, even some wackos are saying Donald Trump is anti gun for wanting to keep guns out of the hands of terrorists.

2.) The Congress is so stacked against any gun legislation that it doesn't really matter what a Presidential Candidate's views on guns are.
>>
>>6402050
You chill with Sander's people right?
>>
>>6402018
Hillary's all that with the exception of pro-gun

This. A thousand times this. Add in anti-domestic surveillance, and that's exactly my combination of positions. I've never been able to cast a vote for a candidate who wasn't going to fuck over something important in at least half of those categories. Bernie was the only candidate that I had any hope for, and he's no longer an option.

I mean, OP said "gay people, especially men," but I get you. It just makes me sick that so many gay/bi women are willing to go all out for someone who supports laws that erode due process and habeus corpus (i.e. her proposed gun regulations). The woman doesn't even believe in totally, 100% free speech, which is especially troubling considering that free speech and the right to due process are what made it possible for women and LGBT people as a whole to organize for our rights and not just get shoved in jail indefinitely temporarily like in Iran or wherever. I've already got my lovely, freethinking fianceƩ, so I'm not too worried about the dumbing down of the lesbian dating pool, but it must really suck being a reasonable woman these days. Those few reasonable gay gals are just surrounded by a bunch of morons who believe anything they read on Huffington Post or Jezebel. Trump's a steaming pile of shit, but there is no way in hell you could convince me to vote for Hillary.

She really isn't. She's only started being pro-LGBT and pro-environment in the very recent past, and so it's hard to take her seriously about her current positions on those issues given that it flatly contradicts her history on them. As for pro-constitution, she's anti-gun, which many people would interpret as a constitutional issue, and she's been a consistent advocate for censorship and domestic surveillance, which are attacks on the 1st and 4th amendments. Again, even if she has the right positions listed on her website, she doesn't have a history with them that inspires confidence.

The First Amendment only applies to American Citizens.

Trump would have the full legal ability to ban more mudslimes from coming into the US.

>ā€œWhenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.ā€
>>
>>6402189

>It specifically discriminates against people of a certain religion, which the 1st Amendment protects.

There is no "right" to immigrate to the United States. It is specifically within the President's power to halt the entry of ANY class of aliens into the country if he deems it necessary to do so for the safety and security of the nation. There is precedent for this. Moreover, this proposed TEMPORARY ban would not affect any Muslims here legally. They would still be free to practice their religion unimpeded.

>>
>>6402247

Your information is a little outdated.
>>
>>6402181
Ok let's get a few things straight.

I didn't buy into the Omar Mateen being gay at first until I heard the testimony of his ex wife and a former college buddy.

His ex-wife said he had some seedy club life that he was kind of ashamed of and didn't really like to talk about.

And a close friend of his in college claims Mateen once asked him if he was gay, and when he said no Mateen said

>Oh...okay, well if you were, you would be my type.

I think now that he was gay and he also believed in the ISIS cause, the only reason h chose the gay club as a target was because of his self hatred, but the driving motive was still his belief in the ISIS bullshit.

Also not all democrats or liberals love Muslims. I'm liberal on pretty much every fucking issue except Muslims and immigration.

I'm for very strict immigration laws, and I despise the religion of Islam because 1.) I believe it is a lie and the Prophet Muhammad was an evil person, 2.) Islam itself hates me as a person

So no, not every liberal loves Muslim cock, fuck your ignorance.
>>

>the constitution, it only applies to American citizens.
no, it doesn't
>>
>>6402301
Americans die most from the guns they own. The 2nd Amendment was established to maintain a well organized militia. There's literally no standard to meet to own a gun. It's not being followed
>>
>>6402256

I think this is something that would require a supreme court ruling. A valid legal argument could be made that preventing people of a certain religion from immigrating does not affect the ability of American citizens to freely practice any religion they want. The opposing argument is that, regardless of its direct effect on American citizens, such a policy could nonetheless be used to improperly strengthen or weaken particular religious communities. It's really not a clear-cut issue at all.
>>
>>6402301
We don't need to protect ourselves from the Government, the day of monarchs in the west is over. Also if the government were to be oppressive the "militia" wouldn't stand a chance because of technology.

The need for the second amendment was reasonable at the times of the founders where everyone basically had the same means of weaponry. It's archaic and outdated now and just plain stupid.

>>
>>6402293

>>
>>6402322
If he weren't elected Sonya Sotomayor and Elena Kagan wouldn't be on that court, and if McCain was elected instead we very may well have had a different ruling. So yes he had direct involvement in the Supreme Court decision. He put two of the pro gay justices there.
>>
>>6402322
Obama nominated 40% of the people responsible for making those decisions that overturned those laws, so yes, he is responsible for it. That's one of the most important roles of the president, and we already have a spot open. Trump's list of judges includes someone who wants to make sodomy in your own home illegal, and ALL of them want to overturn Oberfell v. Hodges

>well organized

You mean well-regulated, and no, they do not mean the same thing. You should also really look up what is meant by "Militia", according to the law. I'll give you a hint: you are probably part of a militia.

>>6402312

>We don't need to protect ourselves from the Government, the day of monarchs in the west is over.

You are hopelessly naive if you think monarchies are the only governments interested in exploiting and marginalizing their own people.

>Also if the government were to be oppressive the "militia" wouldn't stand a chance because of technology.

The thing about waging war against your own citizens is that it isn't quite as cut and dry as waging war against a foreign entity. If you use drones or tanks that means the destruction of your own country's infrastructure. You also have to contend with the fact that not everyone in the military is just going to go along with the idea of disarming 80 million US citizens by force, especially since most of them probably come from families that have gun owners. And of course, at the end of the day, any government doesn't want to govern a mountain of corpses.

This is to say nothing of how the rest of the world would react of the US started slaughtering its own people in the name of "making the country safer for everyone".

In the end, all Gun Control does is consolidate firearms into the hands of criminals, law-enforcement, and the military. You might notice that all three of those groups don't have a good record when it comes to lgbt. Firearms are a force equalizer. They allow the weak (crippled, women, the unfit) and the marginalized (lgbt) to defend themselves against the strong and the powerful.

Armed gays don't get bashed.
>>
>>6402359
He was a regular at the bar for at least three years and was on multiple gay dating apps. The media keeps pushing the ISIS angle because it gets more page views
>>
>>6402312

Then this needs to be part of the conversation for gun control. If there's truly no hope for the citizenry to resist a corrupt government, that's a pretty scary place for us to be as a society. Things like the Snowden documents, the McCarthy era, and Hoover's FBI show us that government cannot be trusted with unchecked power. If the government is not ultimately checked by the potential for its citizens to successfully conduct a revolution, then what keeps it from going completely off the rails?

Queen Hillary will reign as our American Queen, and the whole world will bow before her.

As a small closeted gay boy living among homophobic Christians in a backwoods hick town in the Catskills, I was always terrified that the world would remain this way. That was, until my true mother, Hillary became First Lady. As I grew through the 90s and watched her grow with me, I realized she truly was not only my mother, but the mother to all of us of whom share the same energy. I met her personally in 2001, while she was serving her first term as a NY Senator. I met her again during her campaign during re-election, where I also voted for her in this bid for re-election as a NY senator. Later, I voted for her in the NY Primary during the 2008 election, and this past April (2016). And I will vote for her in November as the American President, the 45th, and 1st female reigning matriarch of America, may the Gods bless our Queen!

And the solution to that is not to disarm 80 million people who have committed no crime. The solution is greater emphasis on mental health care and continuing to normalize homosexuals in the cultural framework so that they do not feel ostracized from society.
>>
>>6402379
that's their choice to make
>>
>>6402379
The majority of gun owners don't kill themselves of harm others. What you're talking about is an issue of our mental health system failing people who need help. It is not a gun issue.
>>
>>6402396
>>6402395
The point is, whether by accident or deliberately, the person you put most in danger when you buy a gun is yourself and all of your loved ones. Or do you think it's good idea for a bunch of drunk gays dancing in the club to be holding concealed guns?
>>
>>6402406
no, that would be unwise.
but the bouncers could of been armed
>>
>>6402406

>Or do you think it's good idea for a bunch of drunk gays dancing in the club to be holding concealed guns?

There are already laws against drinking and carrying a firearm, just as there are laws against drinking and driving. However, along those same lines, I would not be opposed to the idea of "designated concealed carriers". The easier solution, of course, would be to just station more armed security guards.
>>
>>6402395

This. We really have no screening system for mental illness, and health insurance tends to be a lot shittier about paying for treatment for it than for physical ailments. Right now, we pretty much just rely on the more destructive classes of crazy people eventually making their way to prison, where they get to spend all their time with other violent crazy people. This doesn't work well with people whose first majorly crazy action is to go kill a bunch of people and then themselves.
>>
>>6402414
>>6402417
The point is the idea that someone should always carry a gun is insane. It turns society into an arms race. I straight-up don't trust any stranger on the street with a gun. Do you?
>>
>>6402434

No. But that's the thing, isn't it? If someone has a gun, wouldn't you rather it be you than an untrustworthy stranger on the street?
>>
>>6402434
You're thinking too deep. There are plenty of states full of concealed carriers. Some states, like Arizona, let you carry no matter what. No permit needed. They're not in some kind of civil arms race. Guns really aren't the problem. What are made out to be gun issues are really just issues with crime in certain socioeconomic levels and issues in the way our mental health care system works.
>>

I'm so tired of hearing about the second amendment.

sure.
I can safely assume they are just another citizen like me who just wants some kind of protection.
of course they could always be one of those trigger happy doofs who are so quick to show off their skills or dish out some justice and get someone hurt or worse.
although that possibly could be lessened by mandating people take classes on how to properly handle a gun and treat it with the seriousness any firearm needs to be treated with.
>>
>>6401935
most gay people are generally as dumb and susceptible to propaganda as the general population
>>
>>6402434

>Do you?

Yes, I do. I wouldn't trust them with my own life, mind you, but by and large I trust them not to just go spontaneously crazy and start shooting everyone in sight, because those that do are in a statistical minority. There are over 80 million legal gun owners in this country and many of them carry around guns at all times without incident. Most of them will never even be in a situation where they are forced to shoot another person, either in defense of themselves or someone else.

You are allowing fear to cloud your judgment in light of facts that run contrary to what you believe to be true.

And I'd prefer to have something to even the odds when someone bigger and stronger than I am decides that the goddamn faggot needs to learn a lesson. Though, maybe you live in a more accepting area than I do.
>>

>I don't want to have to train myself to use a gun and invest in it in order to feel safe going outside.

Try being a woman in certain parts of the country. It has nothing to do with guns and everything to do with physical vulnerability. Access to a firearm is the only thing that realistically allows a 100lb woman to fend off a much larger, stronger potential rapist.
>>
>>6402499

There's pepper spray. Or stun guns. Or tasers. These are proven to be just as effective. A gun isn't the only option for self defense
>>
>>6402515

>These are proven to be just as effective.

Source?
>>
>>6402459
You mean if the NRA wasn't constantly shilling the issue.

The things you idiots don't realize is that Trump and Hillary would have the same exact result on guns because the congress is and will remain hopelessly deadlocked on the issue.

Discussing this is entirely moot, let's talk about issues that Hillary or Trump might actually accomplish something on. All this talk of guns is just verbal masturbation.
>>
>>6402527
No because this country is so retarded about guns that the CDC is legally not allowed to study gun violence
>>
>>6402543

Well then don't say "proven".
>>
>>6402515
>pepper spray
>tasers
>just as effective

This is a little hard to believe. Source?

>stun gun

If I were going to let an attacker get this close, I might as well just pack a knife. Remember kids, the fastest way to a man's heart is through his stomach, in an upward stabbing motion that avoids the rib cage and doesn't give him a chance to defend himself with his arms.
>>
>>6402542

>let's talk about issues that Hillary or Trump might actually accomplish something on.

Immigration and border security?
>>
>>6402543
wh-why would they?
they're the center for DISEASE control.
unless there is something I am missing.

and what does that have to do with your claim that pepper spray, stun guns and tasers are just as effective?
>>
>>6402566

It's weird, but yeah, studying this would fall to them, just like deaths from vehicle accidents and a dozen other things that aren't actually diseases.. They're really more about anything that affects health than disease per se.

I'm glad the police just stood there and let this guy go.
>>
>>6402595
It's Canadian police, in America the guy would have been shot.
>>
>>6402604
I mean I wouldn't want him shot unless it was necessary either.
but him knowing they had lethal weapons probably would of gotten him to comply. otherwise you end up with what happened. He's just gonna run because he took 3 taser shots. what else are you gonna possibly throw at him?
>>
>>6402617
This is why I think it's necessary for cops to have guns or at least guns with rubber bullets to pack more of a punch than a taser.
>>
>>6402247
>You do know his ban applies to American Muslims traveling abroad, right?

"""American""" Muslims are not aliens by law, and would not be affected by any ban of Muslim aliens.
>>
>>6402634
rubber bullets make a lot of sense to me honestly.

maybe cops could carry like, one or two mags of lethal ammo but keep rubber ones loaded

Cops usually have a partner with them, so one cop should carry lethal ammo loaded and the other should carry non-lethal loaded.

Problem solved

Could you imagine if Trump got a lesbian as his running mate? Someone like Dick Cheney's daughter. They would be unstoppable. A lesbian VP is WAY bigger than a cis het shitlord woman president IMO.
>>
>>6402819

Don't they have to actually be here first?
>>
>>6402846
I think that if he went that far he'd alienate the evangelicals that are voting for him in larger numbers than the gays.

Trump's best bet is to have a woman as his running mate.
>>
>>6402890

But who would be a good fit?

Please no Sarah Palin.
>>
>>6402894
There are some female senators that get talked up for the VP pick. No one that really sticks out though.

Except Condi Rice I guess, but let's keep the cabal away from the Presidency.
>>
>>6402717
There's an attachment that goes over a handgun (currently available only for Glocks, but 60% of police departments use Glocks) that makes the first shot less lethal (the proper term for rubber bullets, since they can kill) and lets the officer fire lethal ammunition after the first shot. The first shot is caught by a rubber sleeve thing and becomes less lethal and then the gun will fire normally. It is the best solution, really.
>>
>>6402017
This. This is the only reason she will win. The DNC could nominate a golden retriever to run against Trump, and we'd have our first Canine-American president.
>>
>>6402987
But then how would they quickly put down criminals?

When committing jihad Muslims have to identify themselves as committing jihad in the middle of the attack.

That's why the murderer called 911, the Washington Post, and texted his wife during the massacre.

Then again, ever since San Bernardino there's been designated concealed carriers at my work that carry guns all the time. Just in case a crazy ISIS supporter decides to go on a rampage.

Whenever he says contradictory things I disagree with he is just playing to his base like all politicans do. Even though his whole campaign is centered around not being a politican lel ex dee

I think it's clear he is just saying the anti-lgbt thing for Christians. But my point is he can't bullshit and say he isn't a politican and then do all the crap assosicated with being one.
And he contradicts himself on so many things it gets less clear cut then with gay rights. He lies just like crooked Hillary.

The leaked Democrat strategy for taking down Trump involves just calling him 'liar' and letting social media push that narrative.
>>
>>6403700
It's shocking how quickly democrats threw lgbt people under the bus after Orlando. When a registered democrat muslim shot and killed 50 innocent people, and hitlary comes out and says happy Ramadan and Muslims are our friends. Fuck that heartless cunt.
The second she lets in millions of Muslims into America and they become a bigger voting block than us, hitlary will bend over backwards to give Muslims everything they want even if it means pushing women and lgbt rights back 50 years

Dude the candidates are so fucking awful I can't even be mad at anyone who supports either. It's like choosing whether you want to drown or freeze to death.

That being said I'm voting Clinton because I'd worry less about the congress and the supreme court if we have a democratic executive, and I think having Trump as president will decimate any respect other countries and their leaders have for us, which makes me REAL nervous. I also tend to favor democrats track record on decisions for education and environmentalism, which are big ones for me as far as keeping US as a world power over the next century or so.

Don't get me wrong, on LGBT issues I think both sides have their pros and cons. I think trump will throw us under the bus the second it benefits him, and you're a fucking idiot if you don't realize that. Even if I'm not voting for him, the biggest thing he's got going for him is he's not afraid to crack a few eggs to get an omelette, even if it means screwing some people over. And Hilary is the opposite- She won't throw us under the bus directly, but without keeping immigration in check we'll be screwed by muslim culture anyway- Not that I agree with trump's extremism, either.

I'll admit I tend to be really biased toward education though. To me poor education is the root of the majority of america's problems, but it gets neglected most because the negative effects aren't immediate.

Even though I hate most Trump supporters because most I've met are ignorant assclowns, I understand how we got where we are, and why people would vote for him. People are desperate, so they're willing to cling to anyone promising change- whether or not those people know how they're going to achieve that change, or what it will cost. On both sides. People aren't voting for Trump, just like most dumb college kids weren't voting Bernie. They're voting for an idea.

also, importance wise
congress >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> president
and its congress' fault we are where we're at.

They have no respect for us. That's exactly why I'm voting Trump, because he's blatantly called them out for their lack of respect (despite the fact that they depend on us to play international policeman when it behooves them to do so).
