I was thinking about doing this the other night actually, and I'm still not 100% sure, but I'm going to stick with my birth name for now. Eventually, if I decide I want a break from that I might change it to something more fem (although people tell me my birth name is p fem) i already have a short list of names I like aswell.

I had to get fingerprinted, fill out a petition of name change and get it notarized, file everything with the county clerk and get a court date. After the judge OK'd my name change I had to take all the copies I made of my court order to the clerk's office and have them notarized there. Then over the next month I set aside some time to go to the Social Security office, DMV and fill out the paper work for the Vital Statistics office. All in all it cost me about $500 in my state to get everything changed. Took about two weeks for my new ID and SS card to arrive, and about a month for the birth certificate. The birth certificate sucks because my state will only amend the new name and won't replace the original. My birth name is front and center while the amended one is in a tiny box wayyyy down at the bottom :/

Most US states allow you to get your ID changed. At the federal level getting your passport changed is as easy as getting your doctor to sign off on it. Birth certificate usually requires dick inversion. The state I was born in doesn't have a standard procedure for it and judges are often reluctant to grant a change of gender, dickflip or no.

my shitty endo won't mark "complete" on the DL 329 unless you've had SRS which is bullshit, and I can't find another endo that does hrt and takes my insurance in my area.
