There is beauty here at times, don't get me wrong. On a rare occasion you have a truly in-depth conversation between intelligent people who would otherwise never engage one another. However by and large mewling hateful whining drowns out everything else. Honesty is nice but when the majority of people hold very similar opinions because they've driven everyone else out you still get an echo chamber. The same small subset of the population preaching to the choir and nodding along.
Perhaps I'm being unjustly nostalgic but I remember a time when no one could make any statement without having 5 other Anons immediately disagree with it vigorously and with vehemence. Now we have entire threads - entire boards - full of people who just nod along to each other's political musings. 4chan has become the alt-right equivalent of a hugbox.
