I think pushing more family oriented values on the gay community would be an important part of it. The promiscuity associated with stereotypical members of the LGBT community would need to be phased out and a focus on raising healthy families in gay marriages would need to be reinforced.

I do have a lot of doubts with letting a gay couple raise children. But then again, what are my doubts worth in a world where 75% of all marriages end up in divorce within the first decade (at least in my country), often resulting in disfunctional family life for the children.

I have lived in the South, specifically South Carolina and Texas. Poor white southerners have lots of problems - with blacks, hispanics, gays, non-Christians - but it really isn't something New England liberals and their kin are capable of understanding. For non-greeks it was primarily access to power. Phanariotes controlled the administration in the christian part of the empire, to the point where the romanians in 1848 hated the greeks and the turks equally, and Bulgarian nationalist was originally more focused on giving the finger to the greeks.
