When I was a kid, like, til I was about 12, I used to get night terrors every few nights. Always the same dream. I only remember about 2/3rds of it now but yeah. And I can't remember what happened immediately after that, but it'd end with me briefly moving through an erratic matrix of ironwork like a skyscraper under construction but less orderly, accompanied by a howling, train-whistle-like sound, and then finally, I'd be facing towards...

Or, rather, according to my parents, I'd sit up in bed all of a sudden and let out a blood-curdling scream, completely unresponsive to the world around me, for about ten seconds and then fall back asleep and have no recollection of that particular part in the morning.
The whole thing would last what felt like a minute or two tops. Always exactly the same dream. Doubt it means anything 'cause I don't really believe in dream psychoanalytics but jesus christ it fucked me up as a kid. It's no wonder I ended up scared of going to sleep as a preteen. I don't think transition plays a big part in why I'm depressed though, a lot of the stress and anxiety people generally have with it about not passing and stuff don't really apply too much because I have no life where I'd need to pass. I only do this for myself and whilst I sometimes do feel horrible about my physical form it's just frosting on the cake. It's more about where I am in my life in general and how I see no way out of here.
