I didn't go on LP, but I used the susans IRC and read the forum when I was like 13. People told me how lucky I was to be able to do it so young, then it took me a further 7 years.

I didn't have internet or anything growing up, except in school. When I was like 16 or 17, I finally managed to get some unsupervised time on a computer and ended up on LP. I'm glad I did, but oh gods, I was cringe-inducing. "Look at my COGIATI score!"
Then when I got to college, I investigated 4chan (pre /lgbt/), then Susan's, then I came back here a few years later and found out /lgbt/ was added.
I'm legitimately grateful for LP, in spite of some misgivings I have. It's a relatively safe space, especially for youth, they have folks with suicide prevention training, too. I occasionally check in to see how things are going, but... meh. Trans forums are kind of boring now. Even 4chan has lost its charm.

Though I've finished with transition now anyway and my life is pretty good, there's always that "could have been".
I even wrote a coming out letter to me mum at that age too but I never gave it to her because I was super scared. And when I did finally tell her at 18 judging by her reaction I doubt she would've let me transition that young or helped in anyway.

But on the other hand, the possibility still burns in the back of my mind that I could have convinced them had I insisted the moment I realized I wanted to be a girl.
