As someone who's part of LGBT, do you find that normie men or women are more accepting of you?
I don't know? I don't go around telling everyone I meet I'm gay. That's just ridiculous.
well, it depends. The new people I'm exposed to are mostly friends of friends and they tend to be don't-even-blink accepting.
but among peripheral people at parties, and strangers who somehow learn that I'm a big queer - women are somewhat better, if only because they're not aggressive about trying not to catch the queer off of me.
All in all I have a pretty good experience with most people, but I'm confident and well-spoken and I think that helps.

Women by far are more accepting. I even live in a heavily conservative area and even conservative women are not anti-gay.

Coming out was a mistake. Seriously fuck the gays that advocate "You need to come out, you don't know how your family will act but they'll surprise you and be more accepting than you think they will be"
I'm cis les and I really regret coming out to my friends. All of them except for one person think I'm going through a phase. I was going to tell my parents after I got a gf and was completely independent, but now I don't see the point.
I'm not repressed, I'm still going to get a gf and everything but there is no fucking point to coming out. My private business is my own. I just wish I realized that earlier as a teenager/college student instead of falling for this stupid "GAY PRIDE WORLDWIDE! COME OUT OF THE CLOSET Y'ALL!" rhetoric. There's nothing to brag about to normies.
Now to find a gf who is okay with me being quiet about my orientation and respects that.

the idea is that your conflict with your parents will make it a topic in their circles, making homosexuality in general a more well known topic and maybe take down some stereotypes. it did make much more sense in the past considering that until the 80's or maybe the 00's homosexuality wasn't something people knew about in general. but you shouldn't hurt your life for the benefit of future people in your place, if you're willing it's a good thing but not worth fucking up your own life for people you'll never meet.
My mom thought that me being bi was a phase. I joked that it was so that she wouldn't freak out.
