Oh I think the issue may be you misunderstanding what "passing" means, it is not reliant on actually being a tranny and transitioning, it just refers to how people identify you. Drag queens can "pass" as a woman by being convincing enough that people mistake them for one and if a mtf does "not pass" as a woman then that means conversely they "pass" as a man/tranny and the opposite is true for ftms. There is even "passing" completely separate from trannies and gender/sex with respect to race, a lighter/darker skinned person can "pass" for one ethnicity despite belonging to another.
