My therapist sent me a text out of the blue again about another client of hers. She talked about 'him' before with me in very vague terme because she found we were both very quiet and introverted and about the same stage of our transition and both wanting to go back to school. Also he might have needed a roommate.
Anyway, I got the message yesterday from her that he really wanted go to the support group but was really scared to. So she wanted me to convince him to go. She was testing me. I told her I feel I can be empathetic for other quiet people and come out of my shell when I have to for others. I did. We hung out for six hours and had a good time. We related over coffee then he really got open when we switched to alcohol. I'm giving him a ride later to group. Worst case scenario like I told him up front: I was also trying to make a friend and we can always hang out again if he doesn't want to go back to group.
I feel so cool today.
