I will give you that Anastasia does make some very good brow products and their new contouring shades which I'm hoping will be in individuals soon.
But my first job was at Mac and I know they have some good products, I still stuff a lot of their contour pro shades in my z palettes whenever I need touch ups on the go. To say Mac is shit is incredibly foolish. Every makeup artist carries at least some Mac products in their kits. If I wanted to do a sheer natural makeup look on a client I always use the Mac face and body because it photographs really well.

All of the NARS products I've tried have been shit or mediocre. I've tried a blush, a lip gloss, highlighter, and sheer glow foundation. All of them were blah at best.
Also I never said MAC is utter shit, I said it's not overtly high quality either. I've tried even drugstore brands that are just as good at some products, like lipsticks and foundations. MAC is known for lipsticks but they aren't that great quality-wise, they just have a lot of colors.

Mac is known for their eyeshadows first and foremost because they were the first to introduce an extensive eyeshadow shades with various finishes i.e. Matte, frost, satin. I always highly suggest tom ford lipsticks to people because you can't beat the quality, texture, pigmentation.
