Can someone explain to me why the gay community is so racist? I can understand not being attracted to X, but why do so many of you allow this lack of attraction to dictate your social behaviors? You do realize that you don't need to be sexually attracted to someone in order to associate with them, correct? Is it just traditional racism, where you prefer to associate with exclusively white people, or are you people literally so sex crazed that you feel like you must experience sexual attraction just to talk to someone? Which is it?

I went to china just over christmas and I felt the same thing. Why were these chinese so racist for just hanging out with other chinese people? The lack of diversity really bothered me.
Later I found a group in a slightly seedy bar that told me that many chinese were racist. Rich chinese people were often fair skinned and liked to travel to places like Thailand, were they discriminate against the thai-chinese that are more brown skinned, and they would not hang out with them. It seems the lighter your skin is in china the more you are revered. Really disgusting.

The darker skin folks were/are field workers which are lower class/poor. Fair skin is the opposite, it's like that a lot of countries over there. Like India I think.

class issue masquerading as a race issue because thats the most visible indicator for making some assumption on a persons class
it happens with asians where somehow the 'light asians'- korean/japanese then to a lesser extent chinese are more well like than brown asians- indonesians, thai, laotians, filipinos
same with the constant social division between light skin and dark skin blacks
pay attention and notice light skin black people are prone to be more militant about race issues because they believe they have to fight harder to prove their blackness

I'm mostly talking about white gays, as they're the main ones who do this. I feel like gay porn is the main reason why. Gays are normally pretty accepting, regardless of their beliefs, but so many of these people feel like they can only really interact with people they might be able to get sex/relationship from. It's a very one track minded mentality and only enforces the stereotype that gays are sex crazed degenerates.
