My thoughts on it.
Asians are less sexually dimorphic than other races. Their facial features are less masculine, which could make them less attractive. Also, oriental features look quite different from caucasian ones. I say this as someone who would date an Asian or (especially) a Eurasian, but probably has a slight preference for caucasian-looking people.
Latin-American mestizos, depending on the mix, look similar to white people but with darker skin. Which can be quite sexy. The take-away though is that they're more similar to white people both genetically and in appearance than Asians are, and they also aren't epicene in the way Asians are.
Same is true for Middle Easterners. Caucasian features, darker skin.
Blacks aren't caucasian either and have distinctive features. Their skin tone is very different from white people. It seems like a lot of people of other races (or just whites maybe?) don't find these attractive. Maybe this is because of a kind of sexual imprinting, or because people are attracted to people who look like themselves, or because of pervasive racism. I very rarely find black guys attractive.
TL;DR: My theory is that there's a broad swath of caucasianish European/Middle-Eastern/Latin people that are in demand on the sexual market. The more you differ from this type, the less desirable you are considered to be.
