If you want to argue that T be it's own separate thing because it has to do with gender instead of sex, then go ahead. But come up with a less half assed argument.
If we're establishing a term for it to make more sense why even both lumping together gender and sexual minorities at all? It was an erroneous link created by a flawed understanding. There's no logical reason why gender and sexual minorities should be together.
And why should asexual and gay people share a moment also? They want entirely different things and entirely different spaces. Let's just have a Homosexual rights movement, covering gay, lesbian and bisexual and a separate Transgender rights movement. No needless and ignorant lumping together of people who are entirely fucking different.

there's significant overlap between the T and the LGB though. Most trans people seem to be bi or pan or whatever people are calling it. Plus things that trans people want also overlap with the LGB part. Generally speaking as a group that represents only a small part of the population (10% if you're being super generous) LGBT people shouldn't be splintering off because then they would be completely powerless. No? The people who support trans and gay rights still would support trans and gay rights. Literally nothing would change aside from getting rid of an erroneous link made by people who didn't know what they were talking about. Movements aren't exclusive.
If you want to get into trans people being gay then everything they want from the gayness is covered by the gay movement. While the transness is covered by the trans one. They're not a "bisexual trans dancer", you shouldn't flanderise people like that. They're a trans person who is also bisexual and a dancer. They can be all at the same time without defining themselves by it entirely. They can be gay and trans abd still support both.
