>>
Honestly, even 18 is too late. Sorry
>>
>>5906636
well you've only got 3-7 years until you are old for a woman, so you might as well give it a try. you can detransition at 30 if you look like a hon, and life as a tranny is too hard

I appreciate the honesty.

So basically, everyone who didn't come out to their parents in their teenage years, then get support from them to buy hormones, they're shit outta luck?

That sucks.

If by teens you mean before puberty.

pffft i was forced to come out and got kicked out without money or resources to survival and left with no future
Picrelated is pretty much on-point. Anyone who started after 15 or so won't pass fully, depending on genetics.
Personally, i started at 17 and still don't pass.
>>
>>5907419
This graph is assuming that the person is literally not trying at all and letting HRT do everything
>>
>>5907537
Which to be fair is most of us here
The problem is, people don't know what to even do, they can buy skincare products and google how to use them, can get make-up and take care of their hair, if they even have hair that is long enough, they can try to put on make-up but not everyone has the face made for that and not everyone has the money for Surgery or hell, even proper Laser Hair removal.
>>
>>5907555
Laser Hair removal won't be more than 200 dollars a session, and usually 8-9 are needed to fully remove it. And these are done throughout the year, the first few monthly and the rest bi-monthly. If you have a job you can definitely set aside that much money.

If you don't have a job, that just goes back to people not trying at all.
>>
>>5907569
Some people can't get a job though, for example if they live in a college boarding school and/or are occupied with something else that they can't neglect, such as looking after an ill relative (bad example, but you get what i mean)
Other reasons for not getting a job may include University stuff or lack of work experience
I myself am waiting to get into a University to have more spare time and try to find a job to get some funds finally.

It's all about genetics, age is a factor but genetics is the real key. I transitioned at 22/23 and everything has come out okish

Don't fall for the memes about age though, seriously. Best thing to do is probably post a picture in a passing thread or some shit

How developed are you? Still growing? Or are you done with puberty? For many people, they won't change much after 16, others may have most of puberty still ahead of them.
>>
From my biased non scientific experience watching hundreds of timelines anything below 30 is fine without surgery unless genetics fucked you.

But yeah as others said genetics is key and then age helps alot but who knows I could be completley wrong. Not like there's any sort of study on this stuff just insecure rantings.

By genetics you mean how young you look as a "male" or could "older" looking people transition well if they're attractive enough?

It's all in the roundness of your face, if you have a round face chances are you'll pass but if you have the "man jaw" you're fucked.
>>
if yar niggers are 21 or younger i'd recommend starting sooner than later. In about 5 months since i turned 21 i developed huge football player shoulders and a giant witchers' jaw. It all happened so quickly that i went from relatively cute to manly and intimidating; i'm not trans though so it's just sad since i always loved being androgynous, but if you're trans i'd suggest moving as quickly as possible.
>>
>>5906636

>>
>>5915323
You looked pretty young before, i wonder if there was transwomen who didn't pass despite being a younger looking male?

Also is it true that hrt won't solve everything, sounds like an obvious question, but someone here said hrt is only part of the process.
>>
>>5916395
Thanks famalam, I'm engaged and in love with my qt fiancée though
>>5916664
Heh, thanks
>>5916942
Thanks ^~^

>>5916953
I'm sure there are people who looked young who didn't end up passing, but looking young I suppose is a big plus because of our relative lack of sexual dimorphism at younger ages. As you appear older as a male it is most likely that you appear older because enough have started to gain these masculine traits that make you look more like a man and less like a boy. Those are the same traits that make it difficult to pass I guess.

To address your other question, yes HRT is only part of the process. While HRT works miracles on some, for others it may change very little.some may need facial and/or body hair removal, some may need surgeries, some may need prescriptions or other methods for repairing hairloss. On top of HRT you have to learn to dress for your body size and type, learn mannerisms (important!) as well as train your voice (one of the harder things for many people!). On top of that, in many cultures and countries, if you want to blend with other women (you don't have to, some women don't follow all the standards of current beauty things and whatnot) things like makeup, grooming your eyebrows, styling your hair and general body grooming like leg shaving and moisturizing.
>>
>>5906643
This is BS. With hormones and surgery to boot, you'll usually be fine. Unless you've got some freaky obvious masculine features.
>>
>>5906728
I'm 7 months and did not receive anything remotely similar results wise. Fuck me dude.
>>
>>5908257
I had a similar experience with making it tricky to get a referral, but then went to a GP specialising in mental health when i was half way through a legal name change, after id socially transitioned.
If you go to them then, it's a lot harder for them to say no because its clear that the transition is already going to happen.... My GP still isnt ideal, but I'm just learning how to push the right buttons more efficiently....
>>
>>5916995
>Some may need prescriptions or other methods for repairing hairloss.

Like going bald?

>Thanks famalam, I'm engaged and in love with my qt fiancée though
SIGH... i'm so jealous.
>>
>>5917058
Yeah, going bald is a problem that in some cases is partially repairable, but if it's all the way gone there are always wigs (I mean the real good kind of wig for like cancer patients and such or whatever)
>>

fuck you, is it too late to transition if you're 31?
>>
>>5917149
but you're never going to be a qt girl doe
>>
Anything after puberty is potential hon territory

The gambit you make of if you put it off, for fear of looking ridiculous out unpassing in your mid twenties and early thirties, you will become completely hopeless hon if and when you inevitably break down and transition

So the earlier the better in the long run
>>

>>
>>5917046

My GP was pretty unhelpful, no blood monitoring, no bridging perscriptions. The worst part is I found some doctor named Dr Webberly who could have done all this for me 6 fucking months ago. IDK I guess things arent too bad, started hrt two weeks ago but now im gona be 25 in 9 months now just feel too old to start. Face and voice are pretty good only problem is my horrific man body.

But seriously cant wait for the day theres a cure for this shit or when they screen for it and abort the unlucky fucker in the womb before they have to suffer any of this insanity.
>>
>>5919005
no, get T blockers and estrogen

I will warn you against it if your face is super masculine.

Personally I'm asian.. so my face isn't masculine at all. When you look at a really pretty T girl like Sophie
>>5908225
her face wasn't very masculine when she was a boy. Even at 22 she transitioned just fine and she looks great.

It's all genetics. Maybe post your face somewhere and let us figure it out for you, if you're not too subconscious about it.
>>
>>5919572
>blood monitoring
can someone get me a list of what i need from a GP while transitioning?
>>
>>5920572
aside from
>blood pressure
the recommended tests are:
>liver function
>diabetes
>cholesterol
and once you start hrt
>estradiol
>testosterone

at least, these are what i've been suggested
wikipedia also lists
>kidney function
most likely for when spironolactone is used as an anti-androgen

also so you know, they may refer to
cholesterol test as lipid metabolism test
diabetes test as glucose metabolism test
kidney function as renal function
>>
>>5920572
>>5920725

But this is assuming the doctor will go ahead with things. Id assume the blood test will be fine nothing wrong with that, but he or she may not agree to interpret the data.
>>
>>5918224
Is your dad actually into your fiancée?
>>
>>5920786
okay so take note
>>5919572
they found Dr Webberley too. she's private so it costs, but it saves the wait. Webberley is who is doing my bloods and will pick up on a bridging script for me once i run out of my own gear by June.
gendergp, mywebdoctor, look her up.
>>
fucking kill yourself
>>
>>5920941

Shes still much cheaper than going private, about 300 pounds in total and around a month wait. While private is much more expensive and usually around a 6 month wait or less depending on who you go with. All still better options than the NHS.
>>
>>5921279
how does that 300 break down?
because they billed me 250 for a year's worth of blood tests, plus 50 for an initial counselling session, and that's without even arranging a bridging script which i'm gonna do some time in may when i run out of my anti-androgen
>>
>>5921336
Thats it + the cost of the pills themselves on prescription.
>>
>>5921857
do you know if she's able to give an NHS prescription or is it private?
a private prescription would still save me a lot of money on my anti-androgen that i've been taking (and yes, i asked and granted my bloods are okay she's willing to script them).
but it'd still be expensive and an NHS prescription would help sooooo much

stuff like exfoliating, using products like moisturizers, eating healthy and drinking lots of water. stuff like that? maybe something like using facial masks to make your skin tight or youthful looking.

It's not too late, it's true that chances kinda go down as you age, but it depends on your genetics. 21-22 isn't super late, and again, depending on your genetics you may not even need ffs. Typically speaking. There's just about always hope in your early twenties, even if it takes a few years of hormones and ffs, very few people that age are completely beyond help

does anyone know if its a good idea to transition while going from neckbeard health to normal, healthy person health?
would it hurt my chances of passing if i do it while im in the process of getting healthier?
should i wait til im in peak health? or will it not matter if i just do it now and then get into good health while im on hrt?
>>
It's never too late to make a positive change in your life. No matter what.

Is it always better to do it as young as possible? Sure. You're better off if you stay in shape throughout your life, learn a new language as a kid, etc. etc. but being older is not an excuse to not do it.

Same with transition. Doing it earlier might have been nice, but you can't turn back the clock, so if you want to do it just fucking do it.
>>
>>5906636
Depends on whether you want to live as a clubbing hottie or a nerdy neetgirl. Do you need everyone to see you as a QT or are you content chilling with horsepiss running through you?
>>
>>5917161
I'm 33 but look like a doughy teenage fuccboi, so there's a good chance it isn't.

>>
>>5906636
I'm almost 25 and still look 18 despite years of substance abuse. I have somewhat feminine facial features. Enough that I'll probably look average once I'm taking in enough xanax to not worry about reactions and just go through with transition.

Don't get discouraged. You'll be fine and if you dress properly, retrain your voice, and don't be a creepy hon then at worst you might end up just looking average and older than you actually are or something when being perceived as a woman
>>
>>5908225
So do you like man or woman? If man would you been okay being gay instead of trans? If bi, what part of being a man did you not like?
>>
>>5939245
I like women and men, I'm really open with my sexuality in that way. I guess it's more of not caring either way than it is liking one or the other. I was not gay pre transition and wouldn't have dated men or been with a man had I not transitioned. I'm now engaged to another transgirl and incredibly happy with it. We get along incredibly well and fill eachothers needs spectacularly. She is honestly the best thing in my life, bleh I could gush on forever but I won't. So yeah, as far as what parts of being a man I didn't like:
Masculine expectations in romantic and sexual aspects of a relationship

Masculinity in my body or face

I used to not like my penis much but I'm learning to accept it as I don't wanna get it cut off

Masculine role expectations/trends in western society in general really didn't fit me. I don't like many "guy things" or acting tough or manly or anything like that (although I do really like cars)

Is there hope or should I just off myself?
>>
>>5906636
Depends entirely on genetics. I transitioned at 26 and am perfectly fine. My boyfriend is 6'2" and looks like a lumberjack, so if he were trans he would have been fucked by puberty.

>Is your dad actually into your fiancée?
>Yeh
Did your dad tell you she was beautiful or was it something else, I'm really curious about the context of this, but i might be prying, so it's your choice if you want to answer it.

>I am one
I can't relate to how you feel but i always though of foreheads as feminine.

/lgbt/ is the reason I don't do it.
Like this>>5906643

You guys and girls keep scaring the shit out of me since I was 24.
Now I guess it's even past the too late territory anyway.

Now if only I could have contact with myself from a parallel world to see who kills himself first, aka me or my version that decided to transition so I can see which one was right.
>>
>>5951482
pretty sure you could make it, you look young which is very good
>>
>>5940465
Work out your legs and butt at least
>>
>>5940340
So basically you are typical bisex transbian. Like men if it feeds your fantasy of yourself as a woman.
>>
>>5906658
>>5906636
>>5906654
So basically a life changing decision has to be taken during your more immature years ?
Wew, then you people wonder why no one can take you seriously.
>>
>>5951648
Naw, like men if they look aestheticly pleasing to me like Keanu Reeves famalam

I have no fantasies of being a real woman
>>
This fucking thread is so full of shit lmao.

Anyways, TAKE HRT EVEN IF YOU FEEL LIKE YOU'LL NEVER PASS.

hrt will likely make you feel A LOT better! it's for your mind too!
>>
>>5951654
That's why this is such a cruel fate. The longer you take to figure things out, the more fucked you'll be.

You can jump the gun and run the risk of not actually being trans, or wait it out to see if it's legit and become a hon.
>>
>>5952927
someday science will be advanced enough to make us pretty anime girls.. right guys?

it means asians have less sexual dimorphism, are usually feminine to begin with

I'm asian btw

Unless you were some fag who lifts and stuff you won't look like a macho man even at 24. White people have it harder.
>>
>>5906636
Best time to transition is before birth.
If you're not born a girl then you're a man for life, no matter how hard you pretend you aren't.

It's usually easier for asian trans girls to pass, it's something related to the bone structure, asians are just naturally more feminine than caucasians.

>>5960271
You will do fine I think, get things started up and HRT will probably do most of the job but in the worst case, there's always FFS.

>>5960843
Does that mean that anon should try it anyway or he should not transition and kill himself faster?

>>
>>5964262
I had a massive breakdown and panic attack, hid in my apartment bedroom for a week without leaving and then finally came out. I dunno
>>
do you guys have any advice for transitioning for work or school?
>>
>>5964262
There are different ways to do it.
Some just go out all feminine one day. Others, like me, are starting to go feminine step by step. I first told my closest friends, family and increased the circle slowly. Once the most important people knew, I started to put more effort in feminine appearance. At this point you dont care what strangers think since you (hopefully) have stable support.

yeah, i've seen a lot of transgirls that come out well that begin like you. try contacts, glasses make your face more masculine looking and angular.
>>
>>5908225
can you tell us what your routine was to look that good? your skin is sooo nice.
>>
>>5967245
Don't certain glasses feminize your face somewhat? I wear glasses and have a somewhat long face and thought it might balance my face out a little more. Thoughts?

Good skincare routines are half of why even average-looking women are able to look like 7s with effort (the other half being makeup and ability to dress.) Start trawling SkincareAddiction on Reddit and read up.

But essentially, it boils down to this:
>Wash your face twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. Use a gentle cleanser, preferably something labelled hypoallergenic. DO NOT use hot water, or scrub until your skin feels tight. That is doing it wrong. Massage gently using lukewarm or cold water. Don't use fucking soap, it's too alkaline and will strip your skin's pH barrier.
>After washing, you may use a toner. Vitamin C toners are good because they help you produce more collagen in your skin and also are an antioxidant, thus preventing or helping to fix that discoloration and sun damage from years of doing basically no self-maintenance whatsoever.
>After toner, wear a SPF 30+ sunscreen if it's morning or a repairing moisturizer if it's evening. Make sure that sunscreen is broad-spectrum and has good UVA protection. Also, put that shit on everything that is going to get exposed to the sun that day, reapplying after every two hours of sun exposure. You don't want skin cancer and you don't want to look like a desiccated leather bag like many men or women starting in their 30s. The sunscreen step is so important that every goddamn dermatologist worth their salt lists it as the number 1 method for anti-aging. This step is also half of why Asians have nice skin. Even in winter, even on cloudy days. Do it.

Don't expect immediate results, it'll take a few months for your skin to begin not looking like garbage. But do all these steps for years and your skin, at least, will look far better than that of 70% of cis women.
>>
>>5968753
thank you so much. is there anything special you do for your diet? Like mostly veggies and fruits, cutting out meat or such?
>>
>>5968773
>Eat a shitton of cruciferous vegetables (aka broccoli and kale.) A spinach is fine too.
>Top-tier fruits are blueberries, grapes, and anything citrus.
>Avoid processed sugars/simple carbohydrates and milk. The former breaks down collagen and makes you a fat diabetic, the latter contributes to acne breakouts. White bread counts as a simple carbohydrate. Stick to whole wheat if you crave bread.
>Also avoid pork or beef (don't want more androgens, do we?) White meat chicken's fine in moderation. Fish like salmon or sardines, tofu, and beans should be the bulk of your protein intake.
>Make sure you get enough vitamins. Vitamins A, C, and E are especially essential to good skin. Cheapest source of A would be sweet potatoes or frozen spinach. C is in a lot of things, but especially citrus. Avocado or a handful of nuts will give you your E.
>Water or green tea is the best drink. Homemade fruit smoothies are acceptable.

Hope that helps. I didn't know any of this when I was younger so I want to save other people the trouble of poring through advice and research.
>>
>>5968803

Just gonna repost the same terrible pic I posted before..

My mom has a similar facial shape to me and she looks off without her glasses, but that could just be familiarity with her wearing glasses. My eyes are shit though and I keep putting off getting glasses because I'm more worried it'll mess up my face more if I get the wrong frames
>>
>>5969111
*getting new glasses rather
>>
>>5969111
yeah I think glasses would make you look more feminine.

How long have you been on hrt?
>>
>>5969167
Not on hrt lol, still waiting (thanks uk)
>>
>>5968653
Well I don't really have a routine, I'm not very good at sticking to them. I never really do anything to my face, for a little while I used a oil free facial moisturizer before makeup but sometimes (read most of the time) I skipped that. I just do Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream and my eye makeup and I'm done. If I feel like my fave is getting oily I have a cerave face wash I use in the shower. That's it really, sorry I don't have something more defined! It's possible it's nice just because of genetics I guess, my mom and dad do nothing to take care of their skin and it's pretty healthy
>>
>>5969295
wow, that's amazing! you're lucky to be so naturally beautiful.
