Yes and no. I support their right to do it, but I'd be worried about trans people signing up just for the possible medical benefits. Asking them to risk getting blown up in some overseas oil war hardly seems worth the chance at having your SRS expenses covered.
I don't see any need to require a pretense before using tax dollars to help pay for trans surgeries. As long as they're diagnosed with GID / gender dysphoria, I don't mind.

All it takes is one story of a trans person being captured and raped and suddenly they'll need to be protected more than the other soldiers because of the danger they face if they're captured. The moment they have to be protected more than the other soldiers makes it not worth it.

Is there a minimum height/weight requirement for male soldiers? As long as a ftm soldier is above that limit, they should be just as capable as a cis male once they're on T.
