but why don't they? I'm of the belief that homophobia comes from people violating gender norms, rather than the concept of two men or two women getting together. Hell, I may even have some of it too, at least among my sexual tastes. I've been working on some Internet Law events, so that's consuming an insane amount of my time, and I've started work on my next research project. This week's been particularly rough, a lot of stuff to do both on my projects and on my personal life. Even had to bury my cat.

I came out on a person to person basis. I came out to my roommates first and I was freaking the fuck out when I told them and just kept thinking how I used to think this day would never come. Then I woke up, and nothing had changed. Everything was still normal. I came out to both of my parents at the same time, and it was a very emotional and tense moment with lots of crying and hugging and stuff. My mom kept asking me if it was okay to tell so and so and would report on how everyone took it (it was all positive). After about the 5th super heavy conversation, I just wanted people to know and not delve into a huge thing every time, so I just stopped caring who knew. I'm probably pretty lucky with my experience, because I haven't had a single negative reaction to it. I whole heartedly recommend it and you'll be surprised how much of a load it is off your shoulders once you're out.

Rezek is pretty good, my professor actually taught some parts of his course exclusively using some of Rezek's papers. And joining a research group, especially one recognized by the CNPQ, will be good for your future.
Here's a link with some of the material I hoarded last semester. It has some textbooks, including Mazzuoli's and Rezek's, and there's a zip containing a hundred or so papers from the Revista dos Tribunais, one of the best national Law periodics. Try to get access to the Revista dos Tribunais. It's one of the best Brazilian periodics, and when you base your research around stuff you find there you are surely picking some solid, good and peer-reviewed material. So you'll stand out a lot from the people who picked some small papers from JusBrasil.
Accessing the Revista dos Tribunais can be tricky, by the way. Subscribing to it is really expensive, so what you should do is find someplace nearby that subscribes to it and allows people to access it by their system. I called to every Fórum in my city and I discovered that the Procuradoria da República is subscribed to it. I called them and they always let me download as many papers as I want (that's how I got the papers I shared).
