Depends on the country you live in honestly, in some countries it's not even worth the effort to go through all of those things, there aren't many specialists and depending where you live you will have to walk up and down for months to get that. Sure making those steps is the right way, but if you live in a third world country, don't even bother, just DIY.

Best: find your nearest informed consent clinic, schedule an appointment there, go to appointment and get your hormones. Make appointments to meet with a therapist/counselor/minister/person obligated to stay quiet about your non-suicidal/harmful to others talk, as well. Transitioning without that would be rough.

Do like everyone everyone in the third world shithole, DIY. They honestly don't even ask for a prescription here, and probally won't ask in almost any third world shithole. Been buying my hormones without prescription for almost six months now.
Oh, fun thing tho, I actually go to a therapist, a
psychiatrist and a endocrinologist, but the endo herself told me that she doesn't know shit about it and doesn't know anyone that does, so she literally told me to just keep DIY and she will keep checking the blood tests just to see if nothing is too wrong.

I didn't had much money either, still don't have, but depending on what you get it can be really cheap. Generic spiro is basically a staple since it's as cheap as it gets for AA, Estradiol Velerate usually have one cheap brand, and injectables are usually cheap too. Only the "pure" 17beta estradiol is more expensive or things like patches etc.
In worst case scenario, generic contraceptive pills are cheap as fuck (0.035mg ethynil-estradil + 2mg cyproterone acetate)
