anyway i am considering doing something dumb. my doctor's surgery refuses to change my details over making every visit humiliating. i updated my name but some staff still use the old one as its on record somewhere. i'm meant to get a prescription from my doctor due to long term self medding. NHS policy is that i should get a script, but my GP won't do it. I've had appointment after appointment giving my doctor stuff explaining trans healthcare and a GP's role in things (for example updating details, prescribing, and conducting examinations). I've been waiting a while for my referral to a clinic to come through, I've got another 6-8 months to wait- 'by the end of the year, hopefully' I was told. I called my surgery and said I needed to hear from my GP, they said they'd get back to me. I got called in tonight for an appointment, I received a text alert for it two days ago, and signed in fine at reception for it. While I was there, my GP called my phone and left a message saying he needed to speak to me (no signal in the surgery). 5 minutes after leaving that voicemail he came out to get a patient and blanked me while i was sitting there. apparently my appointment didn't exist. i have made an appointment with a different doctor to start the process all over again, but i still have to call my current one tomorrow to see what he wanted. i got all worked up thinking i was being called in to get my official script. instead i got to sit around, wait a bunch, and have some Eastern European nurse misgender me and shit. I'm done. the uk medical system is bullshit.
