Hello Mtfg, i'm strongly considering starting HRT in the near future, basically the only thing holding me back is both my mother and her mother had breast cancer which ended up being the biggest contributing factor as to why they never made it past age 50 (i know boo hoo.)
I've spent quite a bit of time researching the health risks associated with MTF HRT and while I have come across quite a few studies that seem to demonstrate that there is no increased risk of developing breast cancer associated with HRT I also have come to realize that LGBT issues such as this one have been/are largely neglected because of the social stigmas attached to them.
So basically I was looking for feedback on this subject from anyone on this board that has/is in the process of transitioning with HRT that also has a history of breast cancer in their family. Was this something you considered when transitioning/should I even really be nervous about my tits being the death of me?? Thanks in advance.
