One of the worst things about is that only Fox news will have anything to say about this and it will miss the point. I know my countries media and I know that because China isn't white or Christian that this won't make a juicy enough story to cover. Ancient China was pretty great.
And Communist China... It's awfully tempting to root for a now-poor country just trying to give everybody their basic necessities and rejecting the whole idea of luxury for the few at the expense of the many. But they've made some cruel decisions in pursuit of those noble goals.

Contemporary China is an interesting phenomenon. First of all it's proof that all that talk that capitalism protects against the government. China has been able to combine central planning with a market system, in which the market is free to explore opportunities insofar as the government approves it. The result is somehow an massively growing economy?
It's really proof that nobody knows shit about economics.
Anyway, it's too bad that they jumped on the moralizing bandwagon. Governments have long equated queer sexualities with political subversion, and it's no surprise to me China of all places would pull this move.
