I've been wondering for a while. the term "non-binary" has been flying around often and I am getting curious whether it is legitimate or not.
I tried to google that term and 90% of the results are from Tumblr blogs and the rest were either Yahoo answers or cheesy looking websites like buzzfeed. I don't trust any of these websites.
I then tried to search for the same term on Google scholar for more scientific resources, I ONLY got articles from Computer Science topics.
So, is it a made up term from Tumblr's SJW or a legit thing?

Both my therapists (who don't specialize in gender, fyi) use the term non-binary and genderfluid as well.
It's a synonym for another condition called special snowflake syndrome, it's when you're cis but really want some of that lgbt victimhood, so you say you're non binary, it's non committal becaus you can do whatever you want, yet it bestows upon you special victim status and the ability to get offended at everything.
Euugh idk, I suppose it makes sense that some people don't feel male or female. I've never met one before though so it could be satire.

I mean, I saw that Tumblr blog of that student at Gender Studies class (She thinks that shit is bullshit by the way) that Disney movies are a product from heteronormative patriarchal society or shit like that. I shit you not.
I'm not sure what their intention is when people say they're non-binary/genderfluid.
Are they just justifying their feelings for wanting some feminine or masculine things but not everything? Because that seems silly.
Then again, so does a man in a dress.
If they look male, present male, don't act overly feminine, dress male or neutrally and just have dyed hair I'm going to question your self-identification as genderfluid/non-binary.
Maybe we should just drop the stupid terms and as a society accept that some people are bigger faggots/more butch than conventionally acceptable.

I believe it is a legitimate alternative to HRT that could alleviate symptoms of gender dysphoria if you are able to whole-heatedly believe in non-binary or genderfluid identity. Good luck keeping up that mentality for the rest of your life, though. Things sometimes change. Don't expect people to always respect your identity either.
I don't want to age as a man, be treated as one, or look like one psychically. I want to wake up and identify as a woman, not anything else. HRT is a better option for me.

And to be honest, I actually used to blindly follow Tumblr's SJW crap just to look more open-minded while it actually made me look dumber. Hence why I decided to look up for real resources and point of views about this "genderfluidity" thing.

Non-binary is rooted in female privilege. Basically women use non-binary as a way to appropriate the struggles of trans people without needing to worry about the violence or ridicule that comes with being trans. Non-binary is just a mask women can put on or take off at will.
If someone tells you they are non-binary tell her to fuck self and her female privilege.

It seems like people who do this genderfluid/non-binary shit are usually white people, especially suburban kiddies. I'm guessing it's a byproduct of having no real struggles in life living in some comfy suburb?

very, very occasionally it's a thing. It's weird. Sometimes it's people who aren't ready to fully embrace being trans, sometimes it's people wanting to be a special snowflake and sometimes these people feel like 'a really shit transsexual'. That is the one i look out for now, because the 2 i know who both experience dysphoria but still consider themselves non-binary used those exact words, without having ever met each other. So yes i believe it is a thing, but it's even more rare than binary trans people.
Yeah it's real, just some tumblr people take it too far and make it look stupid. You don't have to be a boy or a girl but don't be like a demigirl dogkin xd
