It's the the new thing to have. Like before, when someone was sad they were bipolar, or of they had a headache it was a migraine. Now people have low confidence and esteem and it's bdd.
But bdd is a real thing. And it's fucking crippling. I don't have it but someone close to me does and it's heartbreaking to watch. Because it's an ocd spectrum disorder, the main diagnostic criteria is obsessive compulsions over real, or imagined flaws. And it has to interfere with daily life. Like you can't leave the mirror because it looks like one eye is three inches below the other one, but it wasn't like that five minutes ago. So you're late for work. Then you don't get any done because every few minutes you're going to the bathroom to check.
But it's actually treatable. With ssri's and cbt. And untreated the suicide rates are about on par with Trans populations.

It was weird in that it basically said her time travel powers were messing with the universe. However it only affected Arcadia bay.
