Blood work should ideally be done every like 3 months (I'm super lazy and am doing every like 6 months practically) but you need to semi-regularly and you need the initial. Also it's specific hormone panels that you won't get from just general lab work because they don't normally test for both T and E levels. I don't know if any doc will order the blood panels without information as to why and probably a couple sit downs to make sure you're not just a fetishist etc.
Informed Consent still ends up with a couple sit downs but doesn't necessarily involve an endocrinologist or someone who's extremely knowledgeable, but the reason so many are on it is because it's the closest you can get to what you said of just a few appointments and be done.
All these hons tell me that I should not kill myself and wait the whole year until healing is fully done.
