I find it interesting that I always used to get INTJ on these tests when I was younger, then drifted toward consistently coming up INFJ, and now INFP. Does this mean my autism is cured?

None of this is actually correlated with anything else. But I still like thinking about it. I mostly like knowing my type because it helps me exploit my natural strengths (manipulation, charisma) and stop trying to be a carbon copy of my father, who is actually ISTP. I take after my ENFJ mother, but because of my Asperger's (which I share with my father) and my knack for engineering, they always tried to steer me to be more like him. Life was suffering until I managed to catch my stride a few years ago and now I'm happily making connections and pulling strings like I was always meant to do :')

If it was pseudoscience, the personality would be based off of factors that aren't related to personality - see: phrenology, astrology, etc.
MBTI posits that personality is made up of four factors - your social tolerance, the way you collect information, the way you process information, and the way you act on information. Each letter category allows individuals to self-categorize, choosing between 2 extremes, which descriptor is right for them. The tests are honestly not really relevant and can be inaccurate; the only real way to understand which "category" you belong to is to understand clearly what the category means and evaluate whether or not you fit into it.
E: high social tolerance, I: low social tolerance
S: collects details, N: interprets meanings
T: considers outcomes, F: considers people
J: makes decisions, P: stays open
So for instance someone who is ISFP likes to be alone, is detail-oriented and always pays attention to even the smallest things, thinks of things in terms of feelings and emotions, and waits for information before reserving judgment. You can sort of see some of the ways this personality type encourages artistic expression, creativity, patience, and perfectionism. That doesn't mean all ISFPs are good artists or even like art (it's also good for something like civil engineering. Basically anything that requires steady, focused concentration and careful, sustained attention to detail), just that it naturally lends itself to artistry.
Tests basically ask you to categorize yourself, but try not to let you know that they do this, so individuals can frequently make mistakes when answering questions based on what they think the question is asking. In addition, people just don't fit into those cramped boxes, so test results can fluctuate too wildly.
tl;dr: not a horoscope. Not as effective as the business world thinks, but not as useless as pseudo-intellectuals think either
