The term comes from a message board that is infamous for being populated by catty older trans women. They call each other and pretty much every other trans person "hon" (short for "honey" obvs) in a very condescending way. At some point other people started using it derogatorily towards them, and around here it's become shorthand for an old, ugly, bitchy trans woman.
