Hint: Buy a tank of carbon monoxide. Not sure if it's legal in your country, but I wager you don't care about this anymore.

It's not painless at all. Lookup carbogen or medunas mixture. It causes blood acidosis which has all sorts of bad effects plus it makes you trip balls.
It's easier just to use an inert gas like nitrogen or helium which are readily available from a variety of different suppliers.

There's no such thing as a memorable suicide. How many suicides from 1916 do you know about? The only ones you hear about are of the people who did something cool with their life.
1. Take inspiration from whatever sucks in your life
2. Develop app (on your own or just hire dev) based on whatever that shit stuff is
3. Insert impulsive microtransaction that well-off suburban housewives will like
4. Get rich (invest in index funds so money lasts forever)
5. Write book about shitty parts of your life while you're bored being young and rich
6. Suicide by means of old age

Ifyou can manage to get your hands on certain regulated drugs, this would be a really smooth and effective method:
Overdose an some strong opiate i.e. Oxycodone, Palladon etc. and also overdose on a strong Benzodiazepine like Flunitrazepame.
The Oxys will make you enventually stop breathing and the benzo in combination will near instantly knock you out, leading to a come like "sleep".
Basically you will feel a nice oxy high and then you'll just sleep without realizing that you die.
This is my suicide method of choice.

I heard something similar about psilocybin (mushrooms) potentially having a major effect on depression and suicidal thoughts if you have a good trip. people I've know who did them said life was a lot easier for weeks after, and they weren't even depressed.
though maybe this is just something druggies say about their favorite drug. I guess it couldn't hurt to try if you think you'll die soon anyway?

Mushies have a very good effect on depression but it isn't permanent. I took about 4 grams my first time. For a solid 3-4 months I had zero suicidal thoughts.

In my experience psychedelics are a potential catalyst. They can show you what you need to change in order to feel more satisfied with your life, but they can't make you actually stick to those changes. You can lead a horse to water, etc. LSD definitely helped me, but it wasn't a cure-all for sure.
Anyway, OP, we're mayflies, all of us. I won't begrudge you your right to die early, but I really want that you've explored other paths. I hope you've reached out despite your own embarrassment to those that pop in your head, despite your second thoughts.
There's nothing noble or particularly poignant in making your death a monument to the suffering nobody else acknowledged. We're mayflies - all of our small deeds gone tomorrow.
