Hey /lgbt/, I didn't see a thread with the particulars on this and think it's worth conversing about.

How many red-pilled people do we have on this board?

As in, not stormfag or /pol/-tard "muh jooz", "muh deginrecy" levels of stupidity, but people who acknowledge the wrongs of the world in their own ways and seek to better themselves and their families while still holding true to their personal identities.

Too often I see people falling into one of two false patterns of belief. The general rationale is that if you are LGBT, you must be left-wing and vote Democratic, must be an atheistic and liberal, blah blah blah, whereas if you are *not* LGBT, you must be against the rights of the community and be much more staunch about your way of living and the ways of society as a whole. Where is the middle ground? I'm sure most the people on this board probably hate SJWs for how they've disgraced us, but how do we appeal to the normies and show the world that we're not like they make us out to be?

Myself I'm bi and more than likely trans, but I'm rather traditional in my daily affairs and don't go flaunting myself around. I don't go to Pride parades, I don't vote very liberally, and I believe it's important for people to keep on paths of self-fulfillment, whatever that may mean for the individual. Basically, the left would hate me because I don't buy into their identity politics, and the right disowns me because I don't subscribe to their rigid belief structure. I do believe in God, however, and I'd love to get the redpill on transgenderism if one exists because I find it difficult to reconcile my thoughts on the divine with my own gender dysphoria. I've tried making it go away for a long time now and it's sticking, so I need to know where I stand.

Sorry for the blogpost. TL;DR: How do you reconcile the issues of the LGBT community with your own moral compass?

Pic kind of related.
>>
>>5543441
Throw the LGBT community into the garbage where it belongs.
>>
>>5543441
I think most of this board is like that tbqh.
I'll never say I'm redpilled because the people you find who identify as such are quite shortsighted and like 90% are edgelords. But I know what's going on and I'm neither an LGBT activist nor advocate or whatsoever, I'm just sticking around while I wait for my surgeries and then hopefully I'll neither need to identify as blue- or redpilled, nor as LGBT, nor as auto-leftist tranny or some crap.

It's quite maddening how we get put right up there with SJWs and feminists.
>>
I hate liberals and SJWs thinking they speak for me because I'm a tranny

>thinking they speak for me because I'm a tranny
That's the fucking worst. They don't even ask us, they just claim to be right.

I'm a student in economics with an interest in history, political theory and philosophy so I try to put a lot of thought into my opinions

I guess you don't plan to make a legal transition, or expect people in general to treat you by female nuns then...

Or have a recognized reconi by the State...

Because that is politics.

>>5543779
Why? I didn't ask to be a part of anyone's political game, I just want to be left alone.

I said that I hate them thinking they speak for me, not that I hate them. As individuals I don't give a shit about them.
>>5543797
I don't expect anyone to do anything. And I can't make a legal transition where I live without getting SRS which I don't want to, let alone have 40 grand kicking around to get it done.

I always felt it was easier once you accept God. If you're a strict materialist, then transsexualism HAS to be a madness, because despite all the caterwauling from queertards who think "gender is a spectrum" and retarded crap like that, there's just no possible way that what I feel could be anything but a powerful delusion. But, given that I do believe in a soul, all I need to accept is that something went wrong with placing mine. Maybe it's a work of the Devil, or maybe God's a bit fallible: I don't know, and I don't feel like I need to know. But I do believe that when the souls are judged, I'll stand before the throne of the Lord a man.

I've never heard of that definition of "being redpilled", sounds like it's just having a mature worldview to me. Usually "redpilled" means buying into some paranoid conspiracy theory and blaming some group for all of your problems.

When it comes to being SOCIALLY liberal vs conservative, it generally makes sense for the LGBT community to be liberal, since the social conservative crowd tends to be in favor of "traditional values" which means no gay marriage, etc. With economic issues it's really not so relevant one way or the other. And LGBT people don't generally think that all non-LGBT people hate them, it's more that we won't assume someone is an ally just because they say they are, they have to earn their loyalty.

>>5543718
You're still basically grouping all liberals as "a cancerous political ideology".

>>5543835
So then wouldn't the logical thing to do be to vote for politicians who want to make it possible to change your legal gender without SRS? Or is being legally recognized as the correct gender just not worth the trouble for you?
>>
>>5544026
>Or is being legally recognized as the correct gender just not worth the trouble for you?
Why would it be?
>>
>>5543963
Unfortunately, we don't live in a vacuum, we can't just "keep to ourselves" and expect others to do the same. For example, if you're still legally male, in many places that means you still have to sign up for the draft, can't use female restrooms, and if you get arrested for something you get sent to male prison.
>>
>>5544033
>prison
>>
If you want to change the image of LGBT to normies then be that person OP, that's all you can really do. I agree that it sucks that because of certain people you share a similar background with you get painted with the same brush, maybe this is similar to how some black people feel? Despite how "normified" you become people are always going to associate you with those stereotypes. Obama still get's called a nigger after all.
>>
>>5544034
>>5544068
My country has no draft, I avoid using any public restroom like the plague and if I had to I'd use one of the one person gender neutral ones, and I'm not going to prison. Legally male trans women are put in a protective segregated wing anyway.
>>
>>5544084
I feel you are a bit of a special case
>>
>>5544034
>if you're still legally male, in many places that means you still have to sign up for the draft
>boo hoo, I can't shirk my civic responsibility like a normal woman
Typical example of something I find disgusting even though I'm apparently not "supposed" to. If trans status doesn't let you dodge the draft that just means you have to do something everyone should have to do anyway, it's not some giant affliction. Sure, it's a problem that other women still get off the fucking hook like this was the Neander Valley where women can't vote or own things, but that's no excuse for getting asshurt when you don't.

>How do you reconcile the issues of the LGBT community with your own moral compass?
For me there is no conflict, and therefore nothing to reconcile. Life is an ongoing recursive experiment. As long as your experiment isn't hurting anybody else, I wish you the best of luck in your search to construct meaning and find fulfillment in your existence.

There is no one right way to live.
>>
>>5543441
I do think that a lot of the LGBT community and gay traits are quite repulsive. I also believe that it's better to keep your sexuality to your personal life. I think that hook-up culture is quite demoralizing and that applies to straight culture as well.
This of course does make it exceedingly hard to get any relationship at all. There are no real conservative places for gay people to hang out. I really hope that will change in the near future.

However, I live in the Netherlands. Our right wing is very liberal compared to yours. They care more about the preservation of Dutch values than being against gay rights and environmentalists.
>>
>more than likely trans
Can stop this meme please. You either are or you aren't otherwise stfu about it
>>
>>5543497
That's kind of how I feel. I wonder if there's a "silent majority" effect going on among LGBT people whereby most of us realize the movement is kind of shit, but we just go along with it quietly for the social benefits it brings. I'd love to get the SJWs and feminists out of the spotlight though.

>>5543644
Karamazov is great. I haven't read his other works, but if this was meant to be his seminal piece I can only presume his other stuff is pretty close to the level of quality he has in Brothers K.

>>5543965
Part of my worry is that is *is* just madness on my part. My father was a very religious man and staunch in his anti-gay anything, let alone trans stuff. Needless to say some of his bs mentality rubbed off on me and I'm trying to rid myself of it. I'm trying to reconcile two very opposing ideologies and patterns of thought- if I believe I am trans (and I have very strong reasons to believe I am) then I must logically conclude that it is either my own fault, or a mistake of God. But if not, I must assume I was born male for a reason and any significant deviation from that is just me lying to myself. How does one be true to themselves when they don't know which side to be true to?

>>5544026
I didn't mean to imply I thought it was beneficial on the part of LGBTs en masse to not be liberal. What I meant was that I personally take a more traditionalist, though not exactly conservative, approach to most things and it seems to work all right for me. That being said, what I'm really going for is a middle ground. I think the right has got it wrong by forcing the general LGBT populace out, thus allowing the left to grow too large. The left, however, isn't innocent either. They've become too subverted by the extremes within their own parties (feminists, social justice warriors, socialists, etc) and they won't even harbor the notion that the right may have some points about things; they just shut it out entirely. I think there's a balance to be found.
>>
>>5544072
True. My concern is that if I allow this trans thing to manifest more in my life (I've been struggling with it for the last year and it's not backing off) then the social implications could be dire. I have a lot of socially conservative family and friends, and most of them I have plenty of respect for. How would I present myself to them without them viewing me as just another crazed tranny?

>>5544299
Thank you. I guess part of me wishes there *were* a right way to live; a map, if you will. Theoretically if I followed it, I would barely have to worry about any of this at all. But there isn't, and I am. That's why I'm trying to bring two different ideas and thoughts together.

>>5544355
Our right-wing tends to take things too far and often isn't willing to compromise. I'm an environmentalist myself, but I'm not a hippie about it. I don't give them ammo, and I agree that hookup culture is disgraceful. I just wish it were easier to find people with similar beliefs in LGBT circles. I don't really fit in with anyone.

People don't like you because you're a self-aggradnizing, pretentious and judgemental asshole. Not because of your politics, gender or orientation.

>>5546038
Did you even read any of the thread? I'm not concerned with whether people like me or not; they'll find reasons to dislike me anyway. I was referring to how to merge belief safely, not deal with the results thereof.

>>
>>5545483
Wow, it must be so difficult living your life with such black and white reasoning. It's almost as if you're desperately looking to find something to be ashamed about with regards to your orientation and trans status because you need the shame to function after an upbringing like that, similar to an alcoholic relieving their DTs with more booze. Shame is normal to you, so you seek it to normalize yourself in a situation well outside of your comfort zone.

It seems that you're trying desperately to hold onto your status as the majority, but you're simply not and it doesn't seem like you're at all mentally ready to accept that.

>... I'm trying to bring two different ideas and thoughts together.
Then I recommend this documentary. It consists mostly of interviews with LGBT folks and their religious families about how they have come to terms -- or continue to struggle -- with the apparent conflict between their LGBT-ness and their faith.

>Theoretically if I followed [the map], I would barely have to worry about any of this at all.
It's still possible to become quite lost with a map. I should know; I've traveled enough. Sometimes it was because the map was out of date. But more often it's because the map was misread or misinterpreted by yours truly.

If you genuinely believe that the scriptures of your faith might be a correct map, then I would recommend discussing the discrepancy between where you are and where the map says you should be with somebody who's had more experience reading that map -- the clergy. If your current ecclesiastic representative can't resolve the discrepancy, perhaps seek a second opinion from a more LGBT-friendly person of the cloth. I'm pretty sure that all of the major faiths have such clergy -- yes, even Islam.

Most of the board.

4chins did a lot of shit talking to be edgy back in the day, and attracted retarded cunts who thought it was serious, and has thus become a hub for cunts to the point that /pol/ is so extremely right-wing it is impossible to tell if it is a parody or not.

So conservative right-wing antifeminist gays who unironically hate the people who made sure they have the same rights as straight people, now form a pretty large amount of /lgbt/ (and they cannot stop shitposting and shitthreading, either).

It takes a special kind of dumb to be in favour of people who hate a type of person that you are, but well, no-one has ever accused you lot of being smart.

No, that really doesn't follow. Haven't you ever read the book of Job?

The whole point of that is that human suffering happens and is somehow necessary but doesn't reflect your virtue OR fault. If Job can be struck with boils and shit despite his staunch faith, you can be afflicted with this without it meaning that you're bad and evil, OR that God is fucking up somehow.
