There are plenty of gay Catholics out there, not all of them are conservative but they tend to be devout and monogamous.
I was raised Catholic in a rural conservative area, now am Episcopal in a highly liberal city. In the software industry it's less favorable in some cases to be Christian than it is to be gay, so I understand what it's like.

Communism can't work. No similar ideology can on a scale bigger than a small town. The problem isn't the ideology itself, it's greedy people. All it takes is just a few greedy assholes to ruin it for everyone else. Greed will always exist and as the greedy can get more they will always do whatever it takes to get more. Until greed has no reward communism can't work. Once our technology has advanced enough that we can just create whatever we wants, when we want, and as often as we want greed will exist but it be useless.
