I take Lexapro for GAD. Weight gain is one of the symptoms, but I haven't really noticed it. I guess it's useful because I'm trying to go on a small bulk. I've been mostly eating healthy and just upped my caloric intake and my macros, though. I figure I won't put on good muscle if I eat shit day in and day out.
I was told by one of the trainers at the gym that I would look "softer" and my muscle definition wouldn't be as noticeable. But eh, it's winter. It's my first one, so I'm being cautious.

Focus on eating the right foods and let yourself have however much you feel like.
If you're trying to put on muscle you're going to have to get over the guilt that comes with overeating.
As you put on more muscle you'll find yourself needing to eat more just to maintain not even including extra activity.
Funny before I started lifting I'd maintain on around 1,800 to 2,000 calories, was flabby as fuck and no abs. Now I look better than ever and I need at least 2,500 to maintain if I'm sedentary and anywhere from 2,800 to 3,500 on a more active day.
Learn to eat intuitively, eat healthily, and keep lifting heavy and you won't go wrong. :)

How tall are you?
I'm 5'8 and current weight ~150 lbs. I gained like 20 lbs in 4 months eating that amount of calories a day. I would workout whenever I had time, but I guess it wasn't enough. I feel fat as fuck. I went back to eating around 1400 cals a day to get back into the 130s. I've lost 2 pounds this past week.
I wish I could eat more and not be a fat fuck.

My parents (temporarily?) separated a few months ago, went to my dad's new apartment for the first time today. We talked for a couple of hours. We're not that close so it felt really nice. He's been somewhat weird about me liking girls but talking today, I felt like I was just his daughter and nothing else mattered. Good start to the year.

If you're gaining on that amount at your height t's possible there may be excess calories you're consuming that are unaccounted for or have mistakes in your calorie counting.
If you're not weighing every single thing you consume it's impossible to know exactly how much you're eating.
I could go on for pages about workouts and diet but I'll try to keep it as short as possible.
My workout routine is a 3 on 1 off body split where I will hit my entire body with over those three days.
Day 1: chest/arms
Day 2: legs
Day 3: back/shoulders
Rest
Repeat
Within that schedule I've been playing around with what exercises and how many reps/weight intuitively lately. I take almost every set to positive muscle failure and keep rest between sets 30-90 seconds depending on how large the muscle group is. I could go into more depth about training techniques but there are a lot of great articles discussing these things available for free on the web.
As for diet I eat completely whole food plant based (in other words vegan) but vegan or not the same principles apply. I avoid any processed foods with the exception of protein powders.
I do not have set macros per say but I do aim for 1.8g protein per kg of bodyweight, keep fat intake minimal (but get what is essential), and fill the rest in with carbohydrates letting my appetite and activity level that day dictate how much I'll consume.

Everyday I continually experiment and try new things to see how my body reacts, not everything will work for every person but a lot of general rules will apply to the majority so once you have the basics down you can experiment how to fine tune to your own body.

My parents relationship is one that most people strive to obtain. They have been married for 30+ years. My mom is ill, and my dad does everything he can to care for her: goes to her docs appointments with her, makes dinner when she is not feeling well, picks up her meds from the pharmacy, they go for walks together most days, etc.

I always make compound lifts with free weights the base of my workout. I do them first and heavy.
After that I will add in some isolation work usually using machines.
I don't really need to do any cardio other than a 15 minute warm-up on the bike unless I have to be fucking shredded for a competition.
If I have time I'll do 2-3 sessions of no more than 45 minutes medium intensity cardio because I feel I should for my heart health. I always eat extra to make up for the calories burned and to stay anabolic.
I'm not sure what your goals are so it's hard for me to give in depth advice but this is just what works for me and my goal of getting as big and muscular as possible.

They're together. My dad's an alcoholic and a heart patient in his 70s. He doesn't do much around the house aside from watch TV and make messes for me to clean up. He was making six figures a year, dicked around and got fired. Burned through our savings and some of my college fund, I think. Got a job making half of what he did, refuses to adjust his lifestyle according to our income. He's retired and still trying to live like he makes six figures a year. Has no concept of economy and is in complete denial about our finances. He refuses to move from our house even though it's hard to afford and upkeep.
My mom works two jobs and I do what I can to help even though I have a hard time working full time due to mental illness. I think she resents my dad for the whole money issue I described, but she hates conflict so she never calls him out on it. It's easier to just let him have his way all the time, she thinks. She probably has depression, but won't seek help for it.
I'm nearly thirty, finally attending therapy and on meds. I'm trying to turn my life around, but I still have really bad days. I generally act as a buffer between my parents, but I know I can't keep doing it.
