Legitimate question; as an LGB individual, how do you feel about the concept of incest?
I'm referring to your perception of others of that persuasion, not to whether you personally hold those feelings towards your own family members. How would you respond to another person who expressed attraction to a member of their own immediate family? Do you feel like they are just as valid a relationship type as any other relationship type?

I ask this here, because it's a question aimed towards the LGB community, a community that has suffered the same type of stigmatization and negative perception as incest. This is the response that I usually get that prompted the second sentence of my original post. I'm not asking whether you personally are incestuous. I think perhaps people hold negative perceptions towards incest, as they immediately try it on for themselves and naturally feel adversity to it as they themselves aren't that way. I just don't see how that's a valid train of reasoning, however. After all, plenty of people aren't LGB, yet don't disdain the entire thing. This is where allies come from.

I don't have a problem with it as long as no children are involved (either in the relationship or as a result of the relationship). It gets possibly a bit more problematic on a case by case basis when one member of the relationship is in a position of authority over the other, obviously.
But no, just incest in general doesn't bother me. There's nothing objectively bad about it other than the risk of genetic diseases in children, which should be treated as criminal negligence; the taboo about incest itself is just a social thing that resulted from that concept.

I don't consider myself really part of the LGBT community but my sister and I have had a lesbian relationship for almost 26 years. We're the only women each has been with.
As long as it's a consenual relationship I have no real issue with what two adults want to do with each other. That said, I feel laws against incest are important as a net to prevent child abuse.

What would you like to know? It started out as some drunken experimentation, we liked it and continued. We're both married and no one knows about our relationship. We discussed having a third woman join us but both decided what we were doing was more of a loving sexual relationship, not just sex.
Me and my brother fooled around with each other a lot when we were teenagers. Started off as relatively innocent "experimentation" during early puberty, and snowballed into this recurring on-and-off thing that lasted up until my first year of college.
I'm sure it sounds super fucked up, and we certainly felt guilty as hell about the whole thing at the time... but honestly, in hindsight, I don't think it was that big of a deal. We have a more or less normal relationship now, and neither of us came out of it with any sort of psychological problems or sexual issues. If anything, it gave us both a much safer outlet for exploring our sexualities than most teenagers get, especially gay/bi kids. Or maybe I'm just rationalizing my own degeneracy, I dunno.
If it's gay incest and they're both a adult, who cares. It effects no one but them. If it's straight incest, they should be sterilized and then after that, who cares. Doesn't effect anyone else after that. But it could eventually effect the entire species in only a few centuries, so gotta stop that breeding immediately. Or genes already have multiple bottlenecks. We are not a healthy enough species to just let that fly.
The only thing that matters is consent from all directly effected parties.

I think it's hot in theory, and morally okay so long as it's fully consensual... but I also recognize that it probably rarely works out well in practice.
Sexual/romantic relationships are already fraught enough... add in the taboo factor (twice, for gay incest!), as well as pre-existing familial dynamics, and you've got a recipe for drama. If things don't work out you can't unfuck your relative and go back to having a normal relationship.
There's also the issue of consent. The existing relationship makes it really hard for both partners to have the same level of power/authority, even with an age gap of just a couple years between siblings. Plus let's face it, most incestual relationships are going to at least start when at least one of the two parties is an adolescent as well, which just further complicates things.
I think it happens way more than most people like to admit. Mostly harmless experimentation between cousins or siblings. Of course nobody's gonna admit that they lost their virginity trading "no homo" blowjobs with their brother. So you only ever hear about about cases of abuse. But as long as nobody gets hurt, and nobody gets pregnant, I think it's harmless, maybe even "normal" to some extent.
