Hello, I'd like to ask your opinion lgtb. I am a male with a certain taste for trans people, specifically for male to female pre-op. I suppose what I like is the penis aspect with the feminine part. I don't enjoy gay porn as it were, as in normal man on man. Does my preference seem like barking up the wrong tree? Am I someone a trans person avoids? I've never gone for a relationship yet as I am not ready, but at the same time I don't want to even think about it if I would be hurting someone by holding them in the transition phase longer then they intend.
Basically am I the worst kind of person lgtb?

You're not the worst person, and you seem aware enough to dodge the worst things you can do. There exist hetero and bi trans women that are happy with their penis. They are the ones you would be best off courting. You could possibly try penis-ambivalent trans women, but it's less likely to turn out well for the both of you.
Many trans women will avoid you; disliking their penis is a pretty common occurrence, and a partner who wouldn't be just as happy to see it gone is less appealing.
Be respectful, be honest, be confident, and be engaged with the person, and things will go better than they might.
Some trans women may call you a "chaser", and transphobes of all sorts may call you a faggot, still. Try to react well to that.

Thanks for the response. I can see why most trans women would hate their penis, and it's not to say that once they've fully transitioned that I would find them unattractive and immediately break up with them... But it feels like them having a penis is a large attraction point.
If I might ask, what do most trans women use to seek a date? I downloaded grinder at a friends urging, but that only confirmed my tastes and I am pretty new to the whole scene. Thanks again for all the help lgtb.

The app you picked up is MOSTLY used by gay men. Some MtF transitioners identify as such, but my experience suggests it's a minority.
I wish I could say I have a robust database to draw on, but anecdotes are all I've got on this. Most trans women I know use OK Cupid. A few use Tinder (I think that was the name?) and one used plenty of fish (although I'm not even sure if it exists anymore). The only successful matches I'm aware of were through OK Cupid.
While some will allow themselves to be searched for AS trans women, others save that detail for their profile and would be searched for as women.
