How is it any more unnatural than anything else you see in media? There's all sorts of nonsensical stuff seen in most tv shows and movies, while warrior women and the like have definitely existed historically, even if only as a minority. And media definitely focuses on minorities, I don't mean minorities in the racial sense but in terms of uncommon people. Not many people would be interested in watching a boring everyday person going about their lives, media is full of exceptional people and circumstances. There's no reason why that shouldn't apply to women too.
