Think about the hateful things people have said and you were there to hear them in full context. How many times has anyone ever said trap in a hateful way that you really know of? I heard lots of truly hateful slurs and that didn't make the cut, f a m. It's for confused people dressing and confused people fapping. Porn tag. The end.

Maybe very mildly transphobic. Doesn't seem nearly as bad as tranny, and less frequently used, and even that one seems too bad. The original meaning of the term obviously implies negative things about trans people, but even several years ago it doesn't seem to have been used in a negative way.

it started as a joke, a reaction pic posted in response to pics of trans girls which itself became a meme, not any actual interaction between trans girls and men. If anything the trapping was being done by guys on /b/ who'd post their clothed pics and then after a while show everyone the dick, and then someone would post the admiral ackbar picture and everyone had a laugh.
Interesting to note that back then there were lots of shemale porn videos that employed this same method too, acting like it's a trick video where the girl acts all sexy with clothes on and tucked really well then surprise! Which is kinda strange because if you bought the video you'd already know, it'd be advertised as shemale porn. Maybe being tricked in to it is part of the fetishistic narrative for some chasers.
