Just because you don't understand it, doesn't make it invalid. Science has it's own language with more rigorous word meanings because English is so slippery and changing.
The study basically says that MtF persons have similar brain structures to females, and FtM persons have similar brain structures to males. It also goes on to note that the structures they are talking about are radically different in size between males and females, and no cis female or cis male was found to be within the range of sizes found for the opposite gender.
