I feel like I can only be attracted to people if they're physically attractive. I have been called shallow for this and I don't understand why. This is one of the reasons I am not openly gay, is because I don't feel like there's enough guys in the gay community that fit my idea of attractiveness. I just feel so weird that most guys aren't attractive to me at all. I look at women and it's like, yeah they're all pretty same looking, if I was into girls I would probably have no problem; I can tell when a girl is pretty, I just don't care about girls. So how come when I look at all the guys they don't all look samey and unattractive like the girls? It's so weird, because the girls don't look unattractive, it's just the guys that look really gross, but a cute guy makes me care way more about guys than a bunch of boring girls.
It's cause most guys are slobs and don't take care of their appearance, also that you scrutinize guys more closely because you're not attracted to women.

It's really shitty. Like, there's this one guy who's into me and he's super nice, funny and smart, but he's also not my type physically, and just for that I'm just not attracted to him.

Well, I don't really see college as a viable option anyways. I'm really only interested in it for the social aspect. In the long run the connections I make during college won't really matter. For me at least, I have a hard time relating because I like a wide variety of guys in terms of age, race, and body type. Not literally every guy will float my boat, especially with body type, but I'm flexible. The mind and heart of a guy is a factor too and a total jackass will come off as much less attractive to me than someone who I click with.
I guess if you only like specific types of guys then you have to accept that your dating pool will be smaller, especially if your own body type isn't something they may like. There's always exceptions out there but if what you're into doesn't match what they're into then you'll have to deal with not having a lot of choices.
Besides maybe changing your body type to be appealing to theres (getting skinnier? Some lean muscle? I'm just being stereotypical with those thoughts), the best thing would be to be more social. Find where gay guys hang out and hang out there. Talk to people and let them get to know you. If you stay in the realms of online dating at best then people can easily filter out the people who look less appealing without even talking to you. But if you meet people on a friendly level then they may bypass their ideal looks and consider dating you because you relate to each other.
