I'm only doing body-weight exercise and run like a maniac. lifting is on the list of stuff I have to change (what is like a trillion things). Still have a slow metabolism after over two years of excessive running (like really excessive, my doctor says I need to do a lot less), and gaining weight on said areas is pretty obviously in my genes. my father used to be an athlete back in the days and always had a bit of fat on the hips and the chest.
I think the biggest turnoff for lifting is, that it's really time-intensive and I'm notorically out of time. since it's starting to bother me a lot, that my body looks like it does I will probably have to stop having hobbys in order to look like a normal male humanoid ...

I put effort into how I build and maintain my body, there's plenty of stuff you can do to change your "caveman" look. running regularly is a good start, but I got lucky when i found out all the pizza and burgers I eat go to my legs.
