It doesn't work like that, Kayla. Only disabled veterans get their healthcare for free, and even then non-service connected healthcare is billed to whatever other insurance the veteran has. Getting $1500 a month in disability income would require a very severe disability; I have a 50% SCD and receive a whopping $836 a month.
Veterans without a service-connected disability pay for their healthcare like everyone else, and they don't get a monthly check from the government unless they were in long enough to retire (20-30 years).
