Hypothetically speaking, if I were a chaser where would be the best place for me to go to meet trans people?

I don't know.
Outside maybe?
See them on the street, and awkwardly make something up to talk to them, then flirt and hope you exchange some contact info.
Or maybe OKcupid, but I don't know how many serious people go on there.

Online: OK Cupid - not numerous, but often clearly marked. /soc/ may have what you're looking for, too.
Offline: Depends on interests - very low encounter rate relative to general populace.

>around 0.5% of people identify as trans
>See them on the street
Good one anon.

Well, that 0.5% - 0.3% includes pre-transition, and people who are still repressing, and also those who are too young to transition, and those who choose not to transition.
More realistically, maybe 0.2%, or 0.1%.
But I guess all you want is some hook ups.
Maybe try LGBT places, gay clubs, /soc/, and OKcupid.

The problem is I'm not into having casual sex with people I barely know. I actually want a genuine relationship which seems to be rare thing among the lgbt.
