College freshman here. Have the freedom to go clubbing, but only time I have has been with female friends who don't wanna split up (Ergo I can't go home with someone) or someone whom I'm already with (Same situation but worse since I can't even dance with dudes)
Is it strange to just take an uber there alone friday night and see what happens?

I've done that before, with mixed results. It really depends on you. If you have the confidence to approach strangers, despite whatever they may assume about you for being alone, then more power to you.

Well alcohol helps, for sure. You don't wanna be blackout drunk alone at a bar, but a nice buzz helps me be a little more outgoing and less inhibited.
I don't know what it would be like if you're underage. I only started to enjoy nightlife/the social scene once I was old enough to drink. I'm guessing a place that lets in 18-20 year olds will have a dance for or live music. In that case you could just dance a little and try engaging with guys that way.
