Power dynamics are an important part of human sexuality. People might be all "muh heteronormativity" but it's just how we work. Maybe there's outliers but even in a gay relationship someone has to take the dominant role. Some feminists will even go ahead and tell you that all sex is about power. In a sense, they're right.

Regarding the pedophile thing:

Homosexuality is a mental abnormality. A perfectly healthy one that in no way impairs the individual as long as their society is accommodating, However, mental abnormalities are almost always correlated with other mental abnormalities. Look up any mental illness you can think of and I'll bet it has a positive correlation with left-handedness, for example. This is probably true to a certain degree for homosexuality and pedophilia and there's nothing surprising about that, really. It doesn't mean you're a pedophile for being gay any more than you're a pedophile for being left-handed.

Also, and this is especially true in more repressed societies, people who have the courage to be openly gay are less inhibited and less beholden to societal restrictions. This means someone with latent pedophiliac tendencies might successfully repress it if they're desperate to fit in as a hetero normalfag, but if they've already opted out of normal society then they might just say fuck it

Actually, homosexuals are more likely to be pedophiliacs. There was a study that was revealed in the 80s, I can't remember the name... However, Google should be able to help you.

The reasoning was that homosexuals - being mostly sexually repressed due to inherent difficulty of finding other homosexuals - would take out their urges on children, who are, naturally, easier to manipulate and coerce.

Men, generally speaking, are attracted to childlike features. You could also call it "cuteness". Women tend to retain these facial characteristics much longer than men, which is why gay men often have a much younger cut-off age in their attractions than straight men.
