Thread for the upcoming THREE DAY MEET IN /k/ommandoville!
For those unaware, on Saturday, April 30th, 8 /k/ommandos scouted a location in Plumas County for an upcoming Fri-Sat-Sun meetup in an ABANDONED MINE and
GHOST TOWN. This scouting meet was successful, with locations for shooting, parking, and camping found. Several buildings have been determined safe for use
during the trip, including the 3-story Miners' Hotel seen in some pictures, as well as some smaller log cabins throughout the area.
Preexisting fire pits and future latrine locations have also been determined. Calls to the relevant authorities have confirmed that SHOOTING and CAMPING are ALLOWED in this location as long as shooting takes place 150 yards from the closest road or structure and you follow common sense rules.
This scouting meet did encounter trouble. We encountered several fallen trees on the road, which we will deal with via winches and chainsaws on Friday.
Mud and snow also proved to be an issue, but at the end of June this will no longer be a fear of ours. We will have the equipment to attempt to tow anybody who gets stuck
and markers will be posted along the mountain portion of the route so nobody who misses the /k/onvoy gets lost on his own. 2 wheel drive cars should easily be able to manage this dirt road, but if you don't want to get your car dusty carpool from one of the /k/onvoy points.

WHAT TO BRING:
Food and water to sustain yourself for as long as you intend to stay. Food for the group also -deeply- appreciated.
Sleeping bag, pad, or cot. Tent for those who don't wish to utilize the buildings, most of which are safe. (Some are sketchy, but most are solid.)
Clothing appropriate for late-June in the northern Sierras, warm during the day and cool in the evening. Canteen and backpack suggested.
TARGETS, we're gonna need tons, and they can be made from nearly anything.
TRASH BAGS or CANS for cleanup of the above afterwards, as well as disposal of all trash we create during this meet.
FIREARMS and AMMUNITION in bulk are -definitely- requested but -NOT- required, noguns are welcome and will be given a chance to shoot.
FRS radio to communicate with the rest of the /k/onvoy on the road and just in case at the meet. Radios will be used for calling a halt if somebody needs to piss, calling out road hazards and
directions, and general chatter between vehicles. If you don't own one ask in Slack for advice on which one to get. Several /k/ommandos will have spares if you don't want to get one.
RANGE SAFETY:
During every shoot, EVERYONE is responsible for making sure everybody is behaving safely, some of us will take turns to watch out for anyone going full retard. No -really- autistic range rules here, rapid
fire is permitted and magdumps will be held. Noguns will be under the loving tutelage of experienced /k/ommandos. People who screw up will be corrected, people who screw up hard will be corrected harder.

THE PLAN:
On Friday, the setup day, a /k/onvoy will be assembled and proceed north to Plumas County from the assembly point in Lodi, where anons from further south will be
able to park their cars for the weekend and shift gear and bodies to vehicles going the whole way.
The carpool schedule is as follows:
The /k/onvoy assembles in Lodi, CA around 10am
The /k/onvoy makes a scheduled stop at the Burger King in Oroville for refueling and lunch
And finally, the /k/onvoy will arrive at the site mid afternoon, and proceed with all the joy and merriment and such. SEE SLACK FOR MORE INFORMATION AND EXACT LOCATION.
Once the /k/onvoy arrives at the site, we will park, unload, and set up camp equipment for the evening. A short, evening shoot will be had before dinner.
On Saturday, the shooting range opens in earnest, and a hike will be go out for anons so inclined. Meals will be cooked and eaten in camp, and we will
be packing up on Sunday.
SATURDAY CONVOY FOR WAGEKEKS:
A smaller /k/onvoy is being organized for those who aren't NEETs and work for a living. Saturday morning there will be a guide in Quincy and Taylorsville for
you to follow.
IF YOU ARE RUNNING LATE ON EITHER DAY, SAY SO ON SLACK. TRANSPORT TEAM WILL STAND BY FOR YOU.
Also, everything is subject to change, shit happens.

Also holy damn this is the biggest OP post for a meet we've ever done.
>>
And at long last, to join Slack, post a burner email and we'll add you in and give you all that sweet info and answer any questions you may have.
>>
Post more pictures faggot.

Can you fish and shoot near the lake?
>>
>>29860437
Fishing is ok, got to be 150+ yards away from the lake for shooting. However as it's a semi official campsite so if there are other campers you would have to go further out to shoot, not that it matters because its too rough/wooded around there to shoot.
>>
>>29860515
But we can carry around the lake though right?

Let's just say if a whole scouting crew was carrying pretty much the whole time, then pretty much no one would give a fuck.

IDK HOW

I bought too much freedoms over here in VA

after I inherited my buddies estate, and got my VA license, first thing I did was went to a gun show and bought the ruger american pistol.

It took 10 minutes.

I literally shed a tear.

the only negative to living here is:
>no BLM land for muh freedom shoots

But I found out I can shoot on the military base ranges over here which is slightly better than regular ranges, minus the short ass hot times cause army standards.

Also discovered recently that I qualified for glock blue label, so I can finally own a brand new from factory gen 4 with night sights and "high cap mags" for 400$ instead of 1000$.

You would have to send them from an FFL to an FFL. I dont know if you would have to wait ten days to pick them up though. Also if you bought some 20 round M14 mags you totally shouldnt mail them in parts back to your parents though UPS with and through in a bunch of other shit with them. Dont do that because thats illegal and the State knows exactly whats best for us :^)
>>
>>29865715
I would never bring back mags that can be disassembled and are high cap, since my father obviously owned all of these magazines before the ban. He even has some prototype mags from the 70s for HK, Walther, and Sig handguns that werent released until the last couple of years (gosh gun companies take forever to release product).

Also fun fact, the rugershop website wont allow you to purchase high cap mags if your credit card has a CA address even though its being mailed to a legal area.

I spent 20 minutes trying to figure out what was wrong with the website when ordering, and by the time i figured it out, they ran out of 17rnd 9mm mags for the american pistol. Had to wait 2 weeks for a restock.

also and FYI, idk how this worked out, but when I transfered my C&R license over to VA it only took 30 days. which coincidentally is the same amount of time it takes to get a CCW. So the day I got my CCW, I went online purchased a excellent condition P64 with the import stamp in front of the trigger guard under the barrel (instead of on the fucking slide) and got it shipped next day. And thats my carry gun. Fucking astounded me that I didnt need to make a list of guns I want to be able to carry when applying for the ccw.

Just thought of another pro for california and negative for VA.
>lack of handgun ammo in stores

I actually had to order 9mm mak online because there was not one box in stock within a hundred mile radius.

There is no equivalent to big 5 over here so youre pretty much stuck with walmart for cheap ammo. Gun stores here look like fucking pawn shops and rarely carry ammo (if any of you have been to brentwood armory near antioch, or target masters in milipitas, thats how stocked gun stores are here) and all thats left is bass pro or cabelas which we all know is a rip off.

Some of you might remember that I shoot ALOT, so when I say I miss big 5, you can grasp how much lack of ammo there is over here.

You can legally mail guns to yourself, even in CA, as it is not considered a transfer. There is no need to go through the hassle of going through the dealer that wastes time and money. Of course, this means you need a secure address to mail it to. You can ship "in the care of" if you have friends or family you trust.

You can only do this with long guns, as fedex and ups refuses to ship to non FFL addresses now, and you can not ship handguns without an FFL through usps. You can try to see if other carriers will ship handguns, I have no experience or info on them.

You can fly with guns no problem. Issues are dependent on whether the local TSA is retarded or not. You can easily google which airports are like that. Most of the issues are illegal requirements of them wanting to open your locked case without you present rather than not allowing guns onto the plane
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfqtYfaILHw

You can block any mags you own with just a dowel or special base plates to bring them in, or just borrow whatever limited mags people bring. Some people permanently seal them to be safe.

I can ship the long guns through USPS?

Sucks about the handguns...cause I really wanted to bring some good shit over here since (poorfags).

I am more inclined to ship, because I actually have a cousin that worked at LAX and burbank airports, and he would tell me how when he was working their because of the gang he was in, they would steal shit all the time. So now i carry on everything, even when traveling international. Fun story, he told me that the gang he was in worked airports in california and hawaii. And they would look through "tactical looking bags" to steal badges and make copies of IDs of traveling LEOs. Scary shit. So when I was mil and had to approve travel for our badge carriers in mil, I would advise them never to check them in their luggage when traveling the west coast.

Question for fellow /k/alifags about roster bs. Looking into revolver and found a sweet pre-lock 686 deal out of state. Problem is that even though it's the exact same gun as a freshly made one minus lock, it might have a different product code.

Even if it's literally the same gun as they have on the roster right down to the length, is this seriously going to stop me? First time importing.
>>
>>29871123
I think i saw your post on calguns lmao

But in regards to your question, you will need to convert it to single action, unless theres been a change in law about it in the past year that no longer allows single action revolver conversions.

Yes it does matter if the gun has a different product code in regards to roster. Just think of all of the special edition colt 1911s we cant get in anymore.

>"its a 1911 with an engraving"
>"doesnt matter, its not on the roster so that means it will baby kill more"

Whats stopping you from buying a cheap as shit Gat? If you have like 300 bucks you could probably get something Milsurp
>>
>>29877529
A couple of things.

One is that I've shot with a ton of friends' guns and they've given me relatively expensive tastes. I'm not that interested in any <$500 guns, and I have other priorities that prevent me from spending more than that on a gun.

The other is that I'm currently living with liberal gun-hating parents who are terrified of having a gun in the house, and before moving back in with them I lived with a GF who was the same way. I could probably get around that as long as I could catch any paperwork before they got to it (and they don't usually open my mail anyway), so the money issue is really the more pressing thing.

I might see if I can scrape together the cash for a gun before the meet and go up there, though. I've been meaning to quit smoking and that'd pretty much pay for my planned first purchase, a Howa 1500.

Guns don't involve any paperwork that is mailed...

Howa males a nice rifle... personal prefference is for remmy 700 but that's mostly because of the access to machinist time...

The bench rest 700 we did with the super heavy barrel in 7.6x54r that uses the vepr mag was thrown togeather out of spare parts and and scrap on a dare... and built on a remmy 721 long action I think i paid 200 bucks for (having machinists and gunsmith makes life a lot more affordable with guns)

It's weird how your brain recalibrates itself from "man, it's too bad that this thing doesn't exist" to "hey, this would be cool, let's make one." I still find myself thinking that way and then remember that I don't have immediate access to fabricators, machines, and a TIG welder anymore.

A 700 would be an interesting option too, I just played around with a Howa a while back and liked how light and handy it was. It seems like all the gun I'd need for SoCal ranges and I like the whole "zen" of shooting groups with a boltgun more than unloading 30 rounders in a semiauto, plus it's economical to shoot.

I can DM you on YT or something if you're interested in some video help by the way.

Nice septs there.

You're right, but we've had Cali threads up and down since Newsom's shit was announced, and I've done all I can really do, now we wait.

Bought it for her while we were still dating, but never transferred it over. I had been hanging on to it since we broke up though.

We're fucked, no matter by what increments over what time scale. Look at how constitutionally feel-good illiterate the electorate is.

Develop an escape plan NOW. Its terminus should be 2018, which is when Newsom becomes governor -- and he will.
