I own ten guns, but none of them are

Also, four of them are AKs without wood furniture, and one is from Turkey.

as long as you like the guns you own, there's nothing wrong with what you have. If you want to diversify, do it. It's not really /k/onfession-worthy IMO

>four of them are AKs without wood furniture
are they all identical?

UTAS-15, by any chance? I want one so bad, even if it is a meme gat

Its actually a really nice gun for the price. I also got it because I wanted an alternative to the FNP .45, but I feel guilty about buying a gun from Turkey now that I'm more educated on geopolitics. But if you don't care about any of that, it's very cool for a $500 handgun. I also own a CZ 97B, and like the Sarsilmaz better in nearly every way aside from maybe the finish. The only thing I don't like is that it comes with a safety instead of a decocker, but you can still put the safety on in double-action mode, which is kinda neat if you want to be really safe with it.

I haven't been shooting in almost two years. I own three guns I haven't shot yet. The closest rifle range I have access to is over a hour away in another city, and it's just an indoor range. The indoor pistol range in my city has shit gunshot suppression. It's so bad that the last three chicks I've taken shooting there have been completely turned off by it. I'm scared to take my current gf there and make her hate shooting.
>>
>>29733398
I bought my first gun about 2 years ago, and have only been to the range once. Since that range trip, I have bought 4 more guns, and sold 1, and none of those have been to the range (obviously).

To all you folks who own non-collectible guns you've never fired: Why?

Do you buy a bunch of guns at once and then don't have time to fire them all? Do you just end up taking your favorite old guns to the range instead? Do you even go to the range anymore? What the fuck is wrong with you people?

One month I bought 4 guns and i fire them all extensively to this day. I shoot my 20 year old guns just as much as the gun i bought two days ago. If you're not shooting it, and it's not valuable, why not sell it and buy something you actually want to shoot or buy something that isn't a gun but that you'll use?
>>
>>29733398
That's fine.

No real need for a polymer framed gun, as long as what you pick instead is light enough for your use, you shoot it well, and it is high capacity.

MuhTeenEleven vs Glawck is a retarded nonargument. Of course a high capacity 9mm is better than a low capacity ancient .45 for most "tactical" purposes.

HK P30 vs CZ P01 is a much more relevant discussion for CURRENT YEAR.

I drink. I drink a lot. I drink mostly straight from the bottle, but that's besides the point. Sometimes when I'm wasted, I think it's a great idea to play with guns. When I do, I always drop the mag and work the action a few times and check the chamber to ensure it's empty, but then I dry fire a lot.
>>

I have one gun I haven't been able to shoot yet. An AK
For me, I don't get to shoot often. I've only been shooting on private land, so I can go whenever I want to. It's an invitation sort of thing.

All the ranges I know of in my state are membership only and ridiculously expensive.
BUT my coworker's bro-in-law brought him to a range today, apparently $50 for an hr or two of shooting, no membership required. He's gonna grab me a business card and tell me where it is, so when I see him on Wednesday I'll finally know a place I can go shoot whenever I feel like. Feelsgoodman

That is a good feel.

There's a really nice indoor range near me that is 15 bux per person for unlimited time, which is good but you can't shoot anything larger than a .223 there.

There is a state facility where you can shoot for $4 per person per half hour but it's only open 3 days a week and i feel rushed.

The pistol clubs near me all want hundreds of dollars up front and then like a year of probation before they make you a full member. I've been considering it though, because full members get keys to the indoor ranges and can literally shoot any time they want 24/7.

That said, in a perfect world i'd just have a hickock45 setup in my back yard. That's the fucking dream right here man.

what state do you live in? If you want to go shooting, I recommend you bring a GPS, and a bit of food/water, and go drive around till you find a nice spot innawoods.

A good spot will have the following:

1. Decent accessibility. You don't want to have to drive on shitty washed out roads for 45 minutes just to go shooting.

2. No 'no trespassing' signs, or gates (even open ones). Trust me, you do not want to get locked in.

3. A good backstop. Trees don't count obviously (plus it kills the trees). You want to be safe, so shoot into a hill or gravel pit.

4. Good visibility around you. This is because sometimes, there are other shooters, and they are fucking idiots. It's all fun and games until you hear a supersonic crack 10 feet away, because some other retard behind you starting shooting into the woods. You want people to see you.

pic related, my spot (Oregon). Good luck anon. And remember, clean up your shit when you are done.

Everything else Vz 58 does better than the AK. Barely any muzzle rise in comparison to the rise-happy AK, more accurate, lighter.

I'll be honest, I don't own a Vz58, but I do really want one. I just find it hard to believe the 7.62x39 Vz has less muzzle rise than your 5.45x39 AK when the AK is heavier. Is your Vz tricked out with a good muzzle brake or something?
>>
>>29736761
He's lying dude. It's just not true, when 5.45 literally has less recoil than x39 and the rifle is heavier.
>>
>>29736761
It's simple. It's a short stroke piston system so the piston isn't moving all the way with the bolt. Meaning less weight off the bore axis.
It's also striker fired, which may or may not matter. Either way, if you look at videos of people firing the guns side by side, you'll see the AK tends to rise a lot more.

Of course, the felt recoil on the vz 58 is painful, at least on the collapsable stock.
>>
>>29736878
And I should add
Why do you think most new designs, including the SCAR rifles use short stroke systems?

They are better. Less recoil, less accuracy loss, less muzzle rise, which you can always correct by a muzzle brake though.
>>
>>29736003
How is that possible with the grip safety?

I have a fucked-up ass.

Had 3 surgeries, more to come. While I go through physical therapy and surgery I used my pain to convince my liberal parents to allow guns in the home. Fast forward a year, and I just picked up my first tacticool rifle. Said that I could use the guns to help with my depression (which they do) since firearms have been a passion since I was young.

Nothing super special, I'm just unlucky and my ass problems keep reoccurring.

Doubleguns aren't fudd though. They're honestly some of the prettiest pieces I've seen, and if you DO hunt, then they have a definite use.

Also, as my confession, I'm not actually sure what "fudd" really means, beyond it having a negative connotation

Go shoot with James Yeager, at tactical response. They have rentals galore, which is expensive. But, fun as fuck. If you are poor just beg to clean up, and help build shit, in exchange for range time.

I did that, and got free access to 300m,and delicious free dinner from mom/granny.

Because the grip safety blocks the trigger. If anything contacts the cocked hammer and dislodges it the hammer will fall. That is why there is a thumb safety.
>>
>>29738830
"Fudd" is referring to the cartoon character Elmer Fudd. Fudds are gun owners who only care about hunting.

I thought you were trolling when you mentioned Yeager, but that's actually pretty cool. Tactical Response is about two hours away from me, though.

General idea is someone that thinks if it isn't a gun invented before 1975, manual action, and/or fit the stereotype of a "hunter's gun" it should be illegal or limited.

I have a fused rib, which has put a nerve in my shoulder in a weird position, and causes shooting my favorite gun to be incredibly painful.
The jolting pain causes my aim to be nearly useless after about 3-4 shots from the rifle.
I fear that continuing to shoot .308+ boltguns will cause me to eventually develop a palsy of some sort if I can't find a spot where that nerve doesn't get pinched.

Europoor here.

Is it possible to shoot 300m-1k in the US with long range rifles. Or is that only possible in some states and very limited.

If I was murican I would train long range shooting but I feel it is hard to find a good spot to do it, right?

I'm not interested in the innawoods thing. Just a legit range. Are there enough that have at least 300m?
>>
>>29739138

I'd say it's possible in most places if you're willing to drive, say, an hour each way and pay range fees or get a membership. Quite a bit easier than that in some states.

When ever I watch a shooting video on jewtube or what ever. When ever the person shoots their gun, I mimic it with my finger in real life, as if i pulled the trigger. the amount of finger travel depends on the type of trigger that I perceive that they have. I have to get it just right. I also sometimes accompany that with the sound of the gun shot if its a gif or webm. I have gone to the range just to listen to different guns being fired and in different conditions, like indoors, outside, muzzle brakes, suppressors, just so that i can properly replicate the sound when i mimic the trigger pull. yes my ears are raped.
