I think that is exactly OP point though. The guy did not do anything wrong, but because he justifiably shot a chimp (and wasn't black himself) the media turned it into a race war and riot for their ratings and Wilson lost his job as a result of doing the right thing and preserving his own life.

You need a friend if you want to get into LAPD and aren't from the area. And even if you are from the area, you probably need a friend to give you an in. If you're POST certified prior to the time you apply by an academy that LAPD likes, it'll give you a better chance to get in because now they don't need to pay for your training.

Why did Darren Wilson make a dumb call? He physical evidence confirmed his version of events. Brown has twice his size, had just committed strong armed robbery of a convenience store moments before this went down, and assaulted an officer and tried to steal the Wilson's gun. And then he charged Wilson and got shot. Brown earned himself a Darwin award and Wilson lost his job because white people aren't allowed to shoot black people even when it's a case of justifiable self defense.
The whole "he had his hands up and got shot for no reason" came from a random fucking black dude with a long history of police run ins who got interviewed on tv as a "eye witness" who was later confirmed for not having been anywhere near the scene when Brown was shot. The media and race baiters were fucking liars who disregarded and underreported this fact so they could both save face and continue to race bait the issue and get more ratings.
Wilson did nothing wrong. Brown did everything wrong and paid the price. But so did Wilson.
