Does /k/ use shoulder holsters?

If so, what has your experience with them been like?
>>
>>29498139
I like them more than belt holsters.
quicker to throw on, no need to thread belt loops,
can conceal larger handguns more comfortably,
can draw quickly sitting or standing,
only downside:
>hey anon why not take your jacket off, aren't you hot?
>no shut up.
>>
>>29498139
They are genuinely, no exaggeration, fedoras.

Like fedoras, there's nothing inherently wrong with them. They serve a small purpose, they generally work properly at that purpose.

But everyone around you will think you're the biggest fucking faggot and if you have even one non autistic cell in your body you're going to regret your decision to ever wear one.

If you are pure autism however they're the perfect compliment to your Guy Fieri (tm) blue flame bowling shirt and will offer you quick access to personal protection while you venture out of your bedroom to get your daily order of burger king chicken fries

I use a shoulder holster for my metal framed hand guns. I keep my night stand gun in shoulder holster so I can throw it on when I'm in pajamas. I'd wear a shoulder holster for open carry if I ever felt the need to do so.

Gun store fag here...

>Get my newest gun and want it as my new EDC
>The holster I want is backordered online
>Fuck it, I'll buy this crappy fabric one at my store for 20 bucks
>It's the most uncomfortable and unbalanced shit I've ever seen
>If you wear a t-shirt it rises above your collar and wears into your skin

Yeah, I know, I've never worn the nice leather ones. But the fabric ones are a nightmare to wear.
>>
>>29498139
I use a cheap-ass Falco shoulder holster when I CC, since concealment>draw speed up in Canada. It works well. The only person who's noticed was a sharp-eyed LGS employee when I was wearing an Arcteryx jacket, so the stretchy part printed a bit. And because I didn't get a quality holster, just a one-sided one, it does drag on my shoulder after a long work day. But I like it. It's comfy for jobs like mine, where I'm in and out of a chair a lot.
>>
>muzzle is either pointed behind you at people or pointed directly at your hip bone
>drawing requires you to "laser" 90 degrees.
>100% restricted by clothing
>harder to conceal than you'd think
>>

>lunch time.jpg
>put on gun
>feel like you're in miami vice
>get Mcdickletts
>go back to office
>repeat
>go home

they are a holster for a specific thing. Also it's the only really comfortable or effective way to CC a duty pistol or bigger while also being an easy way to CC (inb4 pocket carry) while in business casual.
>>
>>29498480
do you think you could wear under a button down shirt, whether it be buttoned or not.
>>
>>29500814
unbuttoned certainly
buttoned you'd need a compact or smaller gun and a larger size shirt; a fitted shirt would print like hell
also it wouldn't work with the buttoned shirt tucked in

very comfortable, I like them more than IWB. Plus you get the option to carry bugger full sized pistols, and if youre sitting down a lot its a quicker draw. Only downsides are
>will feel weird at first, picture a back pack without the pack. Just having the straps will feel off
>have to wear a jacket all the time
>can get tangled easily, buy a good quality (expensive) brand
>usually in that case you have to build it yourself

IMO everyone should at least try it. Don't listen to >>29498174
anyone that goes to that extreme for what another person does is either a gun grabber, a fudd or an asshole. Probably all three
>>
>>29498430
You cc in Canada?
>>
>>29498139
Yup.
Better in the colder months than the warmer months, unless you have some sort of jacket you can or do wear all year.
I suspect they may work well for women too, they can get away with a light shawl in the summer, which as long as it can't be seen through shouldn't really print, and it's a hell of a lot better than purse carry.
Be prepared to spend a bit though, a basic nylon one might not be the most comfortable, but a nice leather one (that may also actually be custom made) is a dream, but you're going to be looking at a pretty big fee for a holster.
>>
These would be pretty good if you had to wear a lab coat too, I'd imagine.

Shoulder holsters are the fucking best, man.

The only thing to watch out for is wether they have a strap to retain the gun or not.
I need to get some leather and make a strap to make sure my Jericho stops coming loose and almost falling out.
Other than that they're the fucking best man. Comfy as fuck, good places for ammo, and you can CC damn near anything you want.

The downside is that you can't use them in hot climates very easily.

Your gun is always pointed at something like the scenario you described
>IWB apendix? Artery

Pretty much anytime you holster your weapon you point it at your self, the only difference is if you have a good holster and good you can generally consider it safe

>>29507120
Yes. That is the whole reason I use a shoulder holster. My Jericho is large enough that I couldn't CC it without one.
>>
I don't get why everyone is saying shoulder holsters are better for skinny guys. I'm a skinny guy and I sometimes carry my CZ75 in my shoulder holster, which is uncomfortable if I'm concealing it but not so bad for open carry when I'm out shooting or camping or whatever. It is also not the most concealable considering that I'm skinny (6'3" 165lbs) so avoid baggy clothes like the plague. I find the gun hits you in the ribs in a very uncomfortable way, yet I carry my full-size USP IWB all the time relatively comfortably, and assuming my shirt is long enough, relatively well concealed too. I have a Galco Miami II holster btw.

I use a galco to cc a model 27 Smith myself. Combo of a few different parts. I also ride, r1200gs 2008.

>>29508589
What holster do you use for your cz? I've got a pre b 85 I've been thinking of carrying more in a shoulder rig.

I'm 5'11" 175ish wet. Granted I live in new England but I carry in the shoulder rig year round. I just throw a shot sleeve button down over the top and keep it in buttoned. As stated above, it's a n frame Smith. In one instance where I had close contact with strangers and a police officer from a car accident all I did was button literally one button to keep the shirt from blowing open on the side of the highway, no one noticited and if they did they didn't say anything. I personally prefer vertical holsters.

only if you wear a suit ALL the time or are wearing heavy jackets, with more emphasis on the winter jacket.

IWB holsters work on suits if you're not trying to fit into pants that barely fit you.

I've always found that vertical shoulder holsters tend to conceal better, especially if you're wearing lighter clothing.
