Level IV plates? With shitty surplus 8mm, probably not. Initially, anyway. Keep shooting the same plate with anything and you'll break it eventually.
The Mauser fires an 8mm cartridge, which is more powerful than .50 BMG. So yes, it will penetrate armor.

The more distance you have with the Muslims, the k98s will out shoot the AKs in accuracy, power, and effectivenes.

The only real problem would be your slowed rate of fire. Guns still work and bullets still kill, even if better guns and bullets are available. As for if you'd survive, depends on the number of enemies and your location.
Well aimed shots from a dependable bolt action rifle will beat out "sandnigger trigger" every time. Unless they are capable of putting down effective suppressive fire (unlikely) on our position.

Against AKs you have very decent chances actually. You could easily run a PPSh or a nugget, because in fact muslims used to used those against americans and russians not so long ago.
