If you're looking for a double stack .45 that actually holds a respectable amount of rounds, why the fuck are you looking at a p227? Get a Glock 21 in that case.

I would get a P220 sooner than a 227 any day of the week and over a 1911 if I had to buy a .45
>>
>>29167387
Have you ever held both? I've owned a G21, shot my friends P220 TAC, and held a p227.

the G21 is physically bigger than the P220. feels like a giant in your hands compared to the P220 which is on par with the P226(size wise).

THE only reason I can think of getting a P220 over a P227 is for competition purposes where you are limited to a single stack magazine, or you have small hands and can't fit a P227 in your hands properly. that's solely why my friend got a P220 over a P227. he has small fat hands and has trouble shooting anything double stack.

How much larger is the grip of the P227 than the P220? I have small hands but I felt fine gripping the P226.

227 doesn't feel much bigger than the 226 in my opinion... Feels better in hand than the fnx and g21. The g21sf is probably one the better choices in ds 45s

This. To add, there is LITERALLY nothing wrong with an 8 round .45.
>>
>20 years later the full size USP 45 is still the best 45 handgun
Shoot me.

>be 227
>be 10 round capacity in the year of our lord two thousand sixteen
>be grip width of 1.4 inches
>USP 45 balling out of 1990 has a grip width of 1.26 inches and two more rounds in the magazine
Embarrassing. I waited for sig to make a modern double stack 45 for years. Years. Imagine my disappointment.

>Embarrassing

Exactly. Sig's newer designs are fucking piss weak.
>p225-a1
>p227
>p224

OP, just get a P220 if it's between them. The P227 is just trying hard to be something it isn't and the 220 fits the bill just fine.
>>
>>29169327
agreed. plus there is a 10mm option.

BTW, rumor from sig is they're playing with the idea of doing a P227 in 10mm. no confirmation yet though, from what I've seen.

>>29168488
it's the same size. in theory anything that a P226 can fit in for holsters and such, the P227 can fit in as well.

Beware of the Sig extended magazines for the P220 though, they tend to have issues from what I've seen
>>
>>29167341
The P220 is probably my favorite Sig, as it is for a lot of Sig fans. As much as I love my P239 and my P226 Legion, as much as I liked my SP2022 and my friend's P228.

My favorite Sig that I have ever owned was a P220. That is the only gun I have ever regretted selling. As nice as the 10 round capacity is of the P227, it's really only two more than the P220 and I don't think there is a better feeling or shooting Sig than the P220.

God damn it, I need to buy another.
>>
>>29171502
Does anyone make good 10 rounders for the P220 or should I just be sticking to 8 round mags?
>>
>>29172130
sig does
>>
>>29167341
my buddy has a p227 and we cant hit for shit with it. seriously we have to aim like 12 inches high and even then its a crap shoot. i'm sure its just a problem with his gun but at the same time my p220 cant seem to miss.

Random question:
I have manlethands. Really fucking small hands for a guy ;_;
For example, a Beretta M9A2 is to large for me to handle it comfortably. Would a P226 in the e or legion version (i heared they have smaller grips) fit for me?
I'm from a nofun-country and hardly can fondle any guns before i buy them. Shopkeepers won't order one just for you to fingerfuck them.
>>
No better way to ruin a sexy p220 than putting a ugly ass 10 round mag in it. Use the 8 rounder and carry an extra mag if you're really that scared
>>
>>29172925
For sigs there's things like the e2 grips that help with smaller hands or even better those houge g10's.

What country do you live in?
>>
>>29173104
So e2 grips then? I guess they are interchangeable.

Yeah, you just need to replace the mainspring and something else if it's an older style german sig. If you really want a p226 but need something smaller, look into the older german p225's and p6's. Those can definately fit your hand much better but they're single stacks.

I may or may not be right but I think the p228/p229 have smaller grips to accomodate people with smaller hands. I could be wrong because their width is the same as a p226.
>>
>>29173169
Thanks. Gonna take a look into these. I really like the 226 lookwise. Don't care so much about single or doublestack; it should be in 9mm though

Yeah, all the options I listed are 9mm. You could probably get a fair price on a used/police trade in sig 226 or 225 considering you actually live in Germany. Not sure about how your gun market works but it should be possible.

I have a german p226 police trade in
>>
>>29173217
Do you plan to carry concealed? If so I'd recommend a P239 over a P225. They are both 8+1 but the P239 is a bit smaller.
>>
>>29173257
> fair price
I fear not. A thumprule is the US prices + 50% at least.
It is a expensive hobby here.
And i'd rather buy new importstuff than used egun surplus because it breaks down rather fast.
Just fell in love with the legion, allthough i usually do not give a shit about tacticool stuff. Do not know how much it is exactly but i guess about 1.800 €
